The Beck Bible, aka AAT, An American Translation |
Beck. The Holy Bible (An American Translation, AAT).
Holman. 1976. Beck - “The two oldest manuscripts [Vaticanus, Sinaiticus] lack Mark
16:9-20…but end at verse 8.”
I am finishing the new KJV book, so I looked at Beck on the ending of Mark. The only two sources that cut Mark 16:9-20 are the Vatican's forgery, which was known by Erasmus, who would not use Vaticanus. And the other source - the miraculously appearing Sinaiticus.
Tischendorf, a typical antiques huckster, labeled both as the world oldest Bibles, though neither one had any "children" to speak of - and neither one has a legitimate history.
Concordia Publishing House actually printed a Gospel of Mark commentary (two volumes) based on Vaticanus!Voelz is the new Tischendorf, though he should know better. |
