19. All believers are like poor Lazarus; and every believer is a true Lazarus, for he is of the same faith, mind and will, as Lazarus. And whoever will not be a Lazarus, will surely have his portion with the rich glutton in the flames of hell. For we all must like Lazarus trust in God, surrender ourselves to him to work in us according to his own good pleasure, and be ready to serve all men. And although we all do not suffer from such sores and poverty, yet the same mind and will must be in us, that were in Lazarus, cheerfully to bear such things, wherever God wills it.

20. For such poverty of spirit may exist in those who have very great possessions; as Job, David, Abraham were poor and rich. For David in Psalm 39:12 says: “I am a stranger with thee, a sojourner, as all my fathers were.” How could that be, since he was a king and possessed extensive lands and large cities? Thus it came about; although he indeed possessed these, yet his heart did not cleave to them, and they were as nothing compared with the riches he had with God. Likewise he had said of the health of his body that it was as nothing compared to the health of his soul before God, and he would indeed not have murmured, had God afflicted him with bodily sores and sickness. So Abraham also, although he had not the poverty and affliction of Lazarus, yet he had the mind and will to bear what Lazarus did, if God had visited him thus. For the saints should have one and the same inner mind and spirit, but they cannot have the same outward work and suffering. Therefore Abraham also recognized Lazarus as one of his own and received him into his bosom; which he would not have done, were he not of the same mind and had he not taken pleasure in the poverty and maladies of Lazarus. Thus is set forth the sum and meaning of the Gospel, that we may see, how faith everywhere saves and unbelief condemns.

ELCA was repudiating the Scriptures - in their prehistoric synods - 100 years ago. They smoothly moved into Universalism, using the same dogmas as CFW Walther and other dolts - coming from the rationalism and Pietism of Europe. In short, ELCA dinosaurs came from Halle University's Pietism decaying into Universalism. LCMS-WELS-ELS dogma dinosaurs came from Bishop Martin Stephan, STD at Halle University - and his loyal bootlicker - CFW Walther. Walther attached himself to Stephan because his Pietist conventicle had lost their guru. Stephan wrote a letter to Walther and Walther said it saved his life (because he was killing himself with Pietistic extremism over his guilt). Stephan's forgiveness without faith became the be-all and end-all of Walther's American cult.

In short, the LCMS-WELS-ELS began by denying and repudiating the Scriptures, especially the Chief Article of the Christian Religion, Justification by Faith.

Robert Preus was the only synodical conference guy who repented at the end, in his book Justification and Rome. Just to show how dense the graduates of Concordia Seminary, Ft. Wayne are, two of his many sons - Rolf and Daniel - edited the book and did not understand its clear meaning and implications.

LCMS-ELS-WELS upholding the truth is the cackling sound of their Father Below, who knows the facts and watches over his apostate flock, urging them onward to Fuller, Trinity Divinity, and their precious little discussion groups.

All of you know the Chief Article of the Christian Religion, as confessed by Luther, Melanchthon, and Chemnitz. This graphic will be repeated until Bivens and Valleskey agree and ask forgiveness.

LutherQuislings - When You Care Enough To Send the Very Best - And Lie

Richard Jungkuntz, who married the boss's daughter, was a WELS professor who actually earned a PhD. He was pushed out of WELS when his devotion to modern Biblical rationalism was exposed by mistake. A substitute teacher spotted repeat homework from Jungkuntz and its errors. 

Fired, Jungkuntz was upgraded to serving at the Springfield seminary and the LCMS doctrinal commission. Jungkuntz was chairman of the board of Seminex, which is seldom recognized as the first gay Lutheran seminary, in touch with the Metropolitan Community Church. He joined the ALC later. He was so rabid an Objective Justification promoter than he worried about WELS letting go of their precious dogma. 

The LutherQuislings are just as fanatical as ELCA, Walther, Pieper, and Christian News about Justification Without Faith. They are no different from their ELCA counterparts in distorting the Scriptures and just as sanctimonious.

Anyone with a memory will realize that Spineless Schroeder and Matt the Fatt have slidden downhill to ELCA ever since they took office. How can they object to ELCA when the current Michigan District President cross-dressed as part of hazing (GA) at the Mequon Seminary?

Joe Pye Weed Meets Honeysuckle

I have wearied the readers with my praise of Joe Pye Weed, so I switched to honeysuckle, which will be happy to grow, using Joe Pye for most of its support. 

I planted two starts of honeysuckle in the fall last year, protecting them with a plastic collars. They came up in the spring and looked ambitious. The small patch on the south side of the garage was already filled with Little Joe Pye and little else. I left the autumn leaves on top to serve as mulch.

The west gardening area has been a test bed for things-gone-wrong in the garden. In the meantime I have grown two giant Joe Pye bushes there and one Chaste Tree. The honeysuckle planted last fall emerged there. I protected it with a plastic collar and a bamboo stick. The vine will crawl up the stick and work its way into the Joe Pye.

A pollinator garden has many enticements for bees, birds, hummingbirds, and butterflies. Everything seems to exude fragrances, so those four groups gather whenever the weather permits.

The bee balm and butterfly plants grow right up to the patio, so we can closely observe them as easily as they observe us.

16. Tell me, what king could have rendered a service to the whole world with his possessions, like poor Lazarus has done with his sores, hunger and poverty? Oh, the wonderful works and judgments of God! In what a masterly manner he puts to shame the cunning goddess and fool of this world, namely, reason and worldly wisdom! She stalks abroad and fixes her eyes rather upon the beautiful purple of the rich man, than upon the wounds of poor Lazarus; she would rather center her eyes upon a healthy, handsome person, as this rich man was, than upon a revolting and naked person like Lazarus; yea, she holds her nose before the stench of his wounds and turns her eyes from his nakedness. Thus the great goddess and fool of this world overlooks God in the very presence of such a noble treasure, and always quietly passes her own judgment, and at the same time makes this poor person so precious and dear, that all the kings hence are not worthy to serve him or to dress his sores. For what king, do you think, would not now with his whole heart exchange his health, purple and crown for the sores, poverty and misery of poor Lazarus, if it were possible for him to do so? And what person is there who would now give a snuff for the purple and all the riches of this rich man?

17. Do you not think that this rich man himself, had he not been so blind and had known that such a treasure, a man so precious in the eyes of God, was dying at his gate, would have run out, and dressed and kissed his sores, and laid him in his best bed; and made all his purple and riches to serve him? But at the time God’s judgment went forth, he did not see that he could do it. Then God thought, truly, you are not worthy to serve him.

When later the judgment and work of God were accomplished, the wise fool begins to come to himself; and since he suffers now in hell he will gladly give his house and land, to whom before he would not give a crumb of bread; and wishes now that Lazarus might cool his tongue with the tips of his fingers, whom before he would not touch.

18. Behold, even at the present day God is filling the world with such judgments and works, but no one sees it; yea, everybody despises it. There are continually before our eyes poor and needy persons, whom God lays before us as the greatest treasures; but we close our eyes to them, and see not what God does there; later, when God has done his work, and we have neglected the treasure, then we hasten and wish to serve, but we waited too long.

 The last Beatitude is the most difficult one to grasp - also the most important.

The Anglican Communion is heading inexorably and inevitably to a Kairos moment. The present impasse is unsustainable. The slicing and dicing of the Anglican Communion is now fully underway.

The notion of "two integrities" much ballyhooed by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby is not working and is non-negotiable by the majority of Global South Anglicans. Most Global South Anglicans see the open rebellion of western Anglican provinces to Lambeth Resolution 1:10 as a bridge too far and communion breaking.

There are calls to no longer recognize Archbishop Welby as primus inter pares. Some provinces are calling for his outright removal, demanding that he resign.

GJ - I have been impressed with David Virtue's global coverage of Episcopalians/Anglicans ever since I began blogging. World-wide, that communion is splitting over the same disastrous Left-wing lunacies that have bound the American Lutherans together.

Yes, the ELCA-WELS-ELS-LCMS unisynods work together 

1. to study at Fuller Seminary, 
2. to draw money from Thrivent sales programs, and
3. to make their sects gayer than lavender hose.

WELS has been way ahead of ELCA in cross-dressing (with young children helping out), rewarding the culprits, and establishing a college in New Ulm where it is OK to be gay. That trend continues at their loathsome seminary, where hazing is even worse than at the prep schools and college.
