One day the light bulb will come on at the Sausage Factory with the answer: WELS central will prepare all the sermons, and email them out to the local pastors. Of course, the local pastors will gladly pay several thousand dollars of offerings each year for the service.

GJ - I heard there was a sermon service from The Love Shack. I cannot verify it. At one meeting I suggested shutting down Perish Services and getting everything from Fuller Seminary - direct, instead of filtered. Shocked laughter followed.

Any and all oppression comes from religious leaders using God to serve themselves. They equate offerings to them as offerings to God.
The Sausage Factory has no shame -- obviously no quality control in the products it turns out. They shift the focus or attention from Christ to their feeble works.
It is sad to see things come to this.
I blame the CGM's desire to bring God down to the level of our sinful culture rather than realizing the He broke the chains that bound us to sin. Since we are no longer slaves to sin we are free to rise above this culture that is saturated by sin and false doctrine.

Watch these brief videos exposing these "artists" and the themes which they advocate. Is it any wonder why the church becomes infected with false doctrine when our leaders are not capable of discerning what is sinful and corrupt?
I know, I know, you'll call me a sensationalist or legalist or worse; but I don't care. The WELS is at a decisive point in our history and we need to demonstrate that while we are in the world, we are not of this world.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Somehow I don't see these bands fitting the description of being true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, or praiseworthy.
I don't want a God that is "real, relevant, or relational" to my current position. Christ overcame the world and beat sin precisely so that I (and you) don't have to wallow in this filthy cesspool we call Americana any longer.
