Baggage
View this series. Series ID: 5
4 week series
Do you have it? Would you like to check it for good? God is ready and willing to claim it, we just have to be willing to let it go. And not on a round-trip flight, but a one-way destination. Learn how you can pack up the pain and hurt, find release from addiction and torment, and break free from the battles that keep you and your baggage grounded.
The totally awesome teaser video can be viewed here.
Notice on the video - no one is there when the man finally pushes his bags into The CORE's lobby. That is because Ski and Katie were gone.
One Lutheran has already observed, "Checking baggage is a bad analogy. People check their baggage so they can pick it up again."
He asked, "Do they charge $25 to check each bag?"
I recall Paul Calvin Kelm using the same baggage illustration for one of his evangelism brochures. That was 22 years ago.
This display of sermon plagiarism from false teachers continues unabated.

WELS C&C preachers do not even have the faith of a mustard seed. If they did, they could move mountains and WELS would not be in a mess.
Thank God they don’t. They would indulge themselves in Devil inspired displays of their powers.
Does anyone doubt it? They practice the superstition of drinking coffee to help the Word go down. They have fellowship with heterodox believers and dance at communion. They obsess about money and all the things they can do for God when God does not need them and their money. They over leverage and run churches into the ground. They lie and deceive. They busy themselves redefining the Work of the Lord to their personal liking. Some of them embrace UOJ to give themselves much more spiritual leeway in what they do. The list goes on and on.
Talking about checking baggage, too bad we do not make a practice of checking useless, deceptive pastors.
The entire CGM is excess baggage. Just what part of the efficacy of the Word don't these C&C guys understand? The Lord created the entire universe with His spoken Word.
Based on the prices Kelm is charging one perish he is currently 'consulting', I'd say a $25 fee would look cheap in comparison.
We have no way of knowing if Michael Jackson died with his last conscious, fading thoughts on the Cross, or his Jehovah's witness upbringing, or his Muslim conversion last year. If you can believe the news, we do know that in the weeks prior to his untimely death he met with Gospel musicians Andrae and Sandra Crouch. Let us hope for Michael's soul, yet warn and caution others about his lifestyle.
Here's the point of this comment: there's [another] heavy millstone around the necks of the happy-clappy, rock n'roll, praise band pastors and those that fail to warn.
Michael Jackson asked the Gospel musicians how to make his music more "spiritual." Fair enough. But he thought 'spiritual' meant "what makes your hands go up." But because of the pervasiveness and modern Christianity's acceptance of pop-worship services, --and no stout pastors to warn otherwise - that was Michael's expectation of how the Holy Spirit works. No focus on Christ's decision to die for us, just happy-clappy pseudo-Christianity.
Surely Michael Jackson soul was weedy, rocky ground, but the seed of the Gospel should have sown is all its clarity. Instead, one of the most influential pop icons of a generation thinks Christianity is only about "coming out of yourself" and making your hands go up to the music. No wonder Jackson couldn't make "the sinner's prayer" decision.
Another soul burns in hell, and this praise band, me-worship apostasy persists in an unchanging world (the world still hates Christ.)
