Will the Conference of Pussycats Shut Down the Intrepid Lutherans?
Church and Change? Pots of Pietism?
Time of Generic Grace?

The WELS Conference of Pussycats will meet soon. A hot topic is shutting down Church and Change? - No! - Mark and Avoid Jeske? - No! - Intrepid Lutherans? - YES!

The eee-vul Intrepid Lutherans have discussed doctrine and questioned the sloppy, floppy false doctrine promoting Synod Sunday sermon, spawned by the Guilt Factory formerly known as The Love Shack.

Now they have touched the Third Rail - UOJ. Zap. Electrocution execution. Worst of all - the WELS laity are wise to the UOJ scam. They can do their own research and thinking.

Goody, goody! New name for the Love Shack. I love it! I thought it was the Guilt Shack for years. You're right, the laity is on to them. Notice the writers. Ah, what a great time to join the laity!

Sorry, I'm a little naive. Are you saying you have proof that they will discuss the shutting down of Intrepid Lutherans, or is that just credible conjecture?

And what gives them authority to discuss it in the first place? It's not like they actually could shut down an independent blog.

Bored,
I don't believe the WELS can do anything to shut down an independent blog. What they can do is make it very uncomfortable for pastor leaders and any other WELS pastors or teachers who have signed on or who contribute to the blog.
"Brother X, are you sure you want to be part of a blog that questions WELS doctrine?"
"Brother Z, that Jackson guy from Ichabod just posted, do you really want to get involved with HIM?"
"Sooooo, guess you don't want a call soon, do you, Brother?"
It will be subtle, never spoken publically, never written down. Sometimes just a glance at a conference. Who knows, perhaps some of these things have happened already? Watch and wait to see what happens.

The Byzantine Empire didn't have nuthin' on the WELS when it comes to politics....

Grumpy,
You've been WELS a long time, haven't you?

Hey Scott.
I get your point, but I guess I'd be surprised if that happened.

First, the blog is totally innocuous--it challenges no one. Once Intrepid Lutherans start being intrepid about illuminating actual problems and chastising actual false teachers I could imagine people getting bent out of shape.

And I guess if that sort of manipulation does go on regarding "Intrepid" I hope that the Pastors involved have the courage to lead their congregations out of the WELS.

The main thing needed to defeat the creeps is a freedom of information. The Lutheran progressives are just like political progressive. Victory for them is only possible if the majority of the people are uninformed and satisfied.

Thanks to Dr. Jackson for disseminating facts.

Bored,
To me Intrepid might have started to become challenging this evening concerning UOJ. Perhaps Prof. Manthey might be bent out of shape by the end of the evening, both here and on Intrepid. Let's wait and see.

Intrepid Lutherans is indeed quite innocuous. As one of the early lay signers of the IL Manifesto, I wonder if the powers that be will try to put pressure on the pastors of those who have associated themselves with Intrepid Lutherans? I welcome the opportunity to confess the true faith in the face of the crypto-Baptists!
