WELS officials lied to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Freedom, Wisconsin and to The CORE, Appleton (which is part of St. Peter, Freedom). Several people have confirmed this. The members were told that Ski was enjoying a leave of absence.
In contrast, SP Mark Schroeder was told that Ski was suspended, but secretly and temporarily. DP Doug Engelbrecht has told these conflicting stories, one to the laity, the other to his boss.
SP Schroeder called a joint meeting of St. Peter/CORE staff on Tuesday, April 9th, supposedly to have Ski fired. Needless to say, that is unheard of - anywhere. Except for the teeny-tiny ELS and the micro-mini sects, synodical presidents do not get involved directly with congregational staff.
A married couple has tried for months to get something done about Ski and Glende. I have a copy of the allegations, given to Deputy Doug long ago. They have also met with a lawyer and contacted Church Mutual, because Engelbrecht has stone-walled them. Expect your insurance rates to go up, WELSians. You have to pay for the malfeasance of your leaders. Nothing is free, especially those big liability payouts.
Ask Rick Techlin and the Intrepid Lutherans how much good it does to meet with Engelbrecht, Ski, Glende, or anyone else in WELS. You can hate on me and shun me - it still will not get these liars to deal with anything. WELS is perfect. DPs are perfect. Do you want to be excommunicated? Try writing a letter - that will serve as proof you deserve the Left Foot of Fellowship.
One observer thinks that Engelbrecht will go ahead with his plans to ease Ski back into The CORE, without doing anything. Not only that, he says that WELS has done that with similar situations - many times. It is standard operating procedure.
What? No promotion? When people started to learn that pastoral adultery was being rewarded with a promotion to synod staff, Gurgle and Buchholz both wanted to know, "Who told?" They did not deny it. They went around demanding to know, "How did you find out?" Buchie asked me, "Who is your source?"

| ELCA Bishop Bruce Burnside is a drunk who ran down and killed a woman on a jogging path. Then he escaped with people following and trapping him. WELS would pray for the synod official and defend him, attacking the woman for carelessly running on a jogging path. |

Bishop Bruce Burnside picked a bad time to get drunk during the day, run down a woman with his SUV, and try to escape in his damaged van. He even lied to the police about being drunk and asked piously about the woman he ran down (but left to die).
Bishop Burnside upset the WELS PR machine, because ELCA immediately acknowledged his arrest and reported the basic details. ELCA leaders are likely to follow up in The Lutheran and on ELCA News, because their policy has been to report on the criminal activities of bishops. They even reported when they lost a $40 million lawsuit for ordaining a known homosexual predator, quite different from WELS, who hired a pedophile predator, claimed "We didn't know" and absolved him, asking prayers for their dear brother. Only WELS could turn multiple felonies at The Love Shack into an excuse to blame me for something.
I report these matters to show that WELS is an abusive cult. Run, do not walk, to the nearest exit. The longer you stay, the more you will be scarred by their perversions, lies, cover-ups, scandals, and smear campaigns. Remember - absolution is reserved for the unrepentant evildoers and the unbelievers of the world.
Is DP Doug Engelbrecht really a friend to Ski and Glende? If he were, both would be in addiction treatment, like Bishop Burnside, who was court-ordered into a program as a condition for his signature bond.
DP Doug is an enabler, not a pastor. Everything must suit his fragile ego, his need to be a spineless bully, a deceptive leader of mice. He utters his displeasure and the mice bolt for their hideaways.

The other District Presidents in WELS protect one another. I remember one loyalist portraying Schroeder and Buchholz as being reform-minded. Maybe he meant Reformed-minded. Schroeder and Buchholz are worse than Gurgle, who was another official bent on fixing stuff up after Mischke's misdirected reign of Church Growth and felony cover-ups.
