Western Wisconsin District -WELS Gabfest in Watertown, Wisconsin.
What Better Way To Avoid the Ugly Truths of the Sect?

Only the rubes in WELS could translate justification by faith
into universal salvation and rock and roll.

My mouse died today, which leaves me crippled in selecting graphics. They are all worthwhile, so I am not too worried about losing potential readers in the younger age groups.

I am getting plenty of page-views from the WELS district meeting in Watertown, Wisconsin. That would be the Western District. The Anything Goes District will meet in Appleton, where Deputy Doug Engelbrecht is still listed as the contact person for the meeting. Zank must not have stood on the oxygen hose when leading devotions with the ailing saint.

District meetings are listed on the WELS websty. I find the concept of "reporters" interesting. They range from pairing up two Sausage Factory professors (Brug and the satanic Sorum) to the coupling of nobodies. Jeff Schone will be a reporter at the Michigan District meeting. I wonder if that means controlling the information about Martin Luther College's rapid decline.

Would you send your son or daughter to attend Martin Luther College22 in New Ulm? If you want your child in theater or flower-arranging - but not in church vocations.

Speaking of MLC, the Minnesota District will meet in New Ulm at the college. I would much rather see them at Gustavus Adolphus (ELCA), where Tiefel has his worship conferences. It would display more honesty about the WELS-ELCA relationship. But honesty has never been a strength for WELS. They are much better at manipulating people and covering up crimes.

WELS-ELS-LCMS: they love to praise Gehardt every few years. But they do not sing his hymns and do not follow his example. He never compromised about Reformed doctrine. The Olde Synodical Conference is so far down into the gutter that being Calvinistic would be an improvement. That would represent a religious stance rather than a business/marketing approach.

Will the gabfests list how much loot is coming from Thrivent, long-time supporter of Planned Parenthood?

That fact is nothing compared to their velcro-like attachment to ELCA, which happily pays for abortions for any church worker - no questions asked. They are chummy with all the pro-abortion lobbying groups too, since they imagine an essential part of the Gospel is Leftwing social activism.

One could mention Lutheran World Federation and the World/National Council of Churches. They all overlap one another, laundering funds and sharing employees - a vast shell game to confuse the hicks who pay their salaries.

WELS and Missouri play that game well. Matt the Fat recently criticized the LWF for not including his ELCA pals when they asked to join. They are not really ELCA anymore. The last straw was 2009, so they left the nave and still stand around in the narthex, muttering about how bad the nave is.

Why does Matt the Fat care? Because he raised money and worked with them before he became the Great Reformer of Missouri. For Great Reformers in Lutherdom - see the entries under Gurgle and Mark the Bookkeeper Schroeder. They are indexed in the Humor section.

The WELS gabfests need to address the destruction of Glende's first call - by Glende - and how this is being covered up by foreclosing on the mortgage and kicking the congregation under the bus.

They might vote on giving back the property and money stolen from St. John Lutheran Church on Vliet Street in Milwaukee.

Or - the attempted foreclosures by DP John Buchholz. Tis funny how the real stories never emerge from the hum of business proceedings.

And what about Ski? What horrible things did Round Rock members do to deserve him? Four calls in four different districts! That alone is a sobering fact.

District conventions can discuss the comforting thought that Kudu Don Patterson can coach Ski (for a monthly fee) so Ski can find the inner peace that anchors the flinty soul of the District President.

No one is going to discuss Zak Stowe's coming out party at Martin Luther College, his support among the students at Bethany Lutheran College, and potentially at Wisconsin Lutheran College. That would bring up more of those associations with ELCA and delay the utter destruction of Lutheran doctrine and worship that the Boomer leaders have instigated in the last 40 years.

Unfortunately, I know those Boomers. The older men (like Robert Preus) had some fight in them.

My generation is a terrible disappointment: spineless, belly-servers, eager to mold themselves to the latest fad, quick to shun, famished for flattery, sanctimonious to a fault.

"Fear not, I brung my collection of celebrities to hang on the wall."

How does this work if everyone is born righteous?
Every key passage of Scripture refutes UOJ.
