Former Director of Admissions Receives Honorary Doctorate in Recognition of the Reformation's 500th

Louise Johnson did not have the typical credentials one expects for a seminary president's job, but they will call her Dr. Johnson from now on.

Dr. Johnson labored 8 years in admissions, then worked in mission advancement for the Philadelphia Seminary. She probably dabbled in congregational work a bit, like Paul McCain, but not enough to hurt her career.

Wartburg Seminary - founded by Loehe pastors - has been on the brink of insolvency for some time. Their redesigned websty seems to be about:

  • Visiting to enroll
  • Enrolling to change the world
  • Joining their happy throng after enrolling.
All the ELCA seminaries are in deep distress, some of them becoming mini-me's to continue the illusion, serving as departments at a college: Southern, Trinity in Columbus, Pacific in Hippyland. The biggest - Luther - lost customers faster than the Jack Cascione Fan Club. They are selling off real estate, which is a blessing for everyone, especially the accountant.

United Lutheran Seminary soon became divided. Funny how they gave up two female staff - Louise Johnson, Robin Steinke - who both became seminary presidents. So ULS picked a Presbyterian woman who was not radical enough - Theresa Latini - and promptly fired her for past sins against diversity orthodoxy. Thus United is split, after having 10 board members resign at once, without a single Q post to effect that change.

Theresa Latini, Presbyterian minister and former Luther Seminary professor, proved that one can never be too diverse for the diversity mob.
