Did the LCMS Even Look at These Passages When Promoting Bishop Stephan's Objective Justification as Luther's?

Bishop Stephan learned Objective Justification at Halle University, teaching it to the Walther circle of pastors and teachers, who were also Pietists.
Contrast the Biblical passages below with the recent
deposit of unfaith by the Missouri Synod.

Romans 1:15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Genesis 15:4 And, behold, the Word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Romans 4:22 And therefore it was imputed to him [Abraham] for righteousness.
23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

RomansTherefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Hebrews 11:By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

For God, For Country, and for Jon Woods:
In ex-state legislator's corruption trial, jury told that job for vet's mother part of kickbacks

For $100,000 a year salary, Oren was not around the campus much, but he suddenly had an assistant for his mostly empty office. Faculty and staff were paid a pittance, but not the new assistant.

In ex-state legislator's corruption trial, jury told that job for vet's mother part of kickbacks:

"FAYETTEVILLE -- A job for a Gold Star mother was part of kickbacks to then-Sen. Jon Woods in return for state General Improvement Fund grants to Ecclesia College, the government argued Friday.

Helping the mother of his childhood friend who was killed in combat in 2011 was an act of compassion, the defense contended.

Oren Paris III, president of Ecclesia at the time, agreed on Aug. 5, 2013 to a request by Woods to hire Elizabeth Newlun as his personal assistant, emails and text messages between him and Woods show. Woods texted Paris an electronic copy of an application form for improvement-fund grants the same day, according to records presented at Woods' trial in federal court."

A Reader Comments on the Running Sore - aka The CORE in Fox Valley - WELS

No, I don't see nothing wrong here.

These thin, thin Christians don't know their left from their right, but they know their pastor's favorite color!  Favorite activities!  But, what pleases God?  God wants to justify....but no!  It's all about us!

Makes you want to weep.

Nothing says WELS marital bliss like posing with Katie Perry and posting it on Facebook as the profile picture (Glende) or in the albums (Ski).

I checked out The CORE website because I was curious about Novotny ( and train wrecks).  It was a depressing ( because of where WELS is going from where it once was) and annoying all at once.  Do we really need another evangelical church?  They chuck a few keywords out there to calm the Lutherans, but despite what they claim they aren't fooling everyone.

The CORE Websty and Commentary in Blue
"The purpose of the downtown campus is to have a church that, without compromising our beliefs, removes all barriers possible to reaching people with the lifesaving message of Jesus’ love and gift of salvation."  (emphasis mine)

It's just not true...or maybe it is depending on what "our beliefs" means.  The WELS has fallen in the trap just like the LCMS -- Fads.  What are these barriers?  Peter's sermon in Acts?  Mark 16:16?

Everything they do has a mission statement like goes like this:  "Blah-blah exists....."  Same boiler plate everywhere in the WELS.  It's pervasive.  Off the cliff we go!

Ski - Glende's pal from prep school - left quite a legacy.
Instead of being canned (with Glende) for various offenses,
Schroeder and Patterson arranged an insta-call for Ski - to Texas.
What do Ski, Glende, and the new guy have in common? -
being mentored by Jeske.

Back to The CORE:

"The CORE exists to transform lives for Christ through faith that is Real, Relevant, and Relational."

In my experience this really means:

"The CORE exists because it's all about you through Christ the Tool."

Christ the Tool, because because they belittle God and reduce him to their means to corporate evangelical Christianity.  Efficacy of the Word?  Nope.  Efficacy depends on you!  We can do it.....together (through Christ the Tool)!"

Browsing their website reveals the "922 church" as merely an activity center with catchy mantras / themes (cf. http://922church.com/myroots ) and a remarkable lack of Scripture (something I'd never dream to see in a "WELS" church).  And, when they do mention Jesus (the Tool), it's always in an adolescent way.  i.e. Jesus is cool!  We did into the Word and get what we need!

Joel!  Joel!  Where's Osteen?!?!  Just tattoo Jesus' name on it, and we're good to go!

So, they go about their business cultivating thin, thin, lives with shallow, shallow essential doctrine.  When the storms come, it will all blow away.

But, it's all about YOU through Jesus the TOOL.

The polysect sect leader Mark Jeske arranges joint religious forums for ELCA-WELS-ELS, so they can witness to their common devotion to UOJ, women's ordination, abortion, and Thrivent funding.

Matt Harrison's LCMS Has Proven Its Calvinism Once Again.
Geneva Won - Lutherans Lost to Lily-Livered Apostates

Do you remember Calvin from the last post? The LCMS would make him so proud today.

On the other hand, Calvin is so appealing to rationalists in the ELCA, LCMS, WELS, ELS, and the Calcified Legalistic Cult.

Missouri's CTCR has published a giant bolus of compost on its long-suffering pastors and members, in honor of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. Slide (WELS) wrote a brilliant article on Lutheran disasters on the Reformation anniversary years.

Copied below - skills learned from Paul McCain - are the key slides from an endless "study" to be foisted upon the grieving, scattered, and confused members of the Synodical Conference (RIP).

Slide 41

All the world is redeemed, forgiven and reconciled because of Christ’s death and resurrection.
2 Cor. 5:18–19 and Rom. 5:19
God’s wrath is stilled; Satan (all evil) is defeated.
1 Thess. 1:10 and Col. 2:14–15
In Christ, righteousness and forgiveness are won and sinners are reckoned as righteousness.
Heb. 10:12

Slide 42

So objective [general] justification is forgiveness Christ won for all (2 Cor. 5:19–21).
His work is an objective reality — salvation and forgiveness for the world is accomplished, independent of any other human action or merit.
And subjective [individual] justification is this same forgiveness as it is received through faith by individuals (Gal. 2:16; Titus 3:3–7).
The individual “subject” is justified, born again.

The Calvinist Woods explained the words of Halle Pietist Knapp with these two terms, Objective Justification and Subjective Justification. These terms got translated back into German and Walther liked them very much. The key term is the world absolved of all sin without the Word, without the Means of Grace, without faith - just like Calvin's Unlimited Grace.
The rationalistic piffle of Missouri's great and wise has no relationship to the Scriptures, Luther, or the Book of Concord.

Like Karl Barth and ELCA, Missouri merges the Atonement with Justification by Faith, which is why John Sparky Brenner uses the term Justification of the World - God has declared the entire world free of sin.

JP Meyer taught this abomination for years, and WELS cheerfully republished his book, which was the source of three of the Kokomo Statements.

This is a fine explanation of UOJ from Edward Preuss, who became a major figure in the Church of Rome after publishing his abomination on The Justification of the Sinner. Yes, the book title sounds nice, so lovely, but the words mean God has absolved all atheists, pagans, and cannibals of their sin for all time, even before birth.

Some things not mentioned or given adequate treatment by the LCMS:

  • The efficacy of the Word
  • The Means of Grace
  • Luther's Justification by Faith
  • The Augsburg Confession and the Apology
  • Martin Chemnitz on Justification by Faith
  • Andreae on Justification by Faith
  • Chemnitz on Justification by Faith
  • Gerhard, Calov, and Quenstedt on Justification by Faith
  • Walter's copying of Bishop Martin Stephan's dogma
  • Walther's insistence on election without grace to prop up his Easter Absolution (OJ) debacle
  • Eerie parallels with Walther and Calvin.

How Do the Lutheran Leaders Respond to Justification without Faith, Election without Faith?

Total Depravity (also known as Total Inability and Original Sin)
Unconditional Election - Walther's Election without Faith
Limited Atonement (also known as Particular Atonement)
Irresistible Grace - Walther's Justification without Faith
Perseverance of the Saints (also known as Once Saved Always Saved)

Walther seemed to think that attacking faith in Christ equaled praise for the grace of God, but one does not oppose the other. Walther wrote in the style of Calvin, as if he alone glorified God with his peculiar (albeit second-hand) notions.
Harrison's election (without faith) campaign consisted of praising all his alleged influences as the bulwark of LCMS dogma. Luther? Melanchthon? Chemnitz?

To be Steadfast Lutherans, one must promote the Calvinism of Walther and shun the Means of Grace in Luther. Wilken once denied being pals with McCain, but now wants to build a statue to His Corpulence, Paul the Plagiarist.
Minute mark 36.00 for Wilken's statue announcement.

Shh. I am hunting wascally wabbits that mention Ichabod.

Let us promote Walther's Justification without Faith while selling Roman Catholic books that identify true Christian doctrine with faith plus works.

Tis funny how the LCMS has bred so many mini-popes who hate one another, though knit together by election without faith. UOJ and rude behavior seems to be their common ground.
The Little Sect on the Prairie is fanatical about Justification without Faith, their history of Norwegian Pietism in perfect harmony with Calvinism. They persecuted B. Teigen for being a Lutheran - and now host the "Teigen Reformation Lectures," so give them credit for hypocrisy.

WELS' Zarling decided that Calvin's concept of Justification  was the "Diamond of the Reformation, the Chief Article, the Master and Prince, the judge of all articles of Christianity." But his UOJ diamond has one enormous flaw - Justification by Faith is the Chief Article.

Bivens copied the Zarling flaw, without giving credit.
In academic circles, that is plagiarism.
At Mordor, that is scholarship.

I am not sure where this bishop is on doctrine.
One must be a 32nd degree ELDONUT and kiss the episcopal ring to attend their parties (no wives, no aspirants, no postulants, no laity) - so we can only guess. This blog has never called them NUTS - but DONUTS.
The undersigned is an expert on DONUTS.

Some of my research is still being used today.

Pope Pius XIII Has Begun His Book Tour

Interest in Comey's delusions of piety might be slight - good thing the media are there to swell the numbers at Barnes and Noble. I see a chipper B&N staffer and two indifferent shoppers. Pope Pius XIII, a modern Goliath.

ChurchMouse has published some dated complaints about Attorney General Sessions being too slow, too timid, etc. I highly recommend The Art of War, where such things as deception are explained. This is a global conflict. Sessions earned a nickname - The Silent Executioner - when he was a prosecutor.

An avalanche of prosecution is about to drop. Normally I would not get into the news, but this also involves child trafficking and the harvesting of organs - adults, children, unborn - for huge profits. On the battlefield a soldier is worth as much as $500,000 for spare parts, whether fresh dead or still alive. There is more to the story, which I will not get into. The trade is global and must be stopped, along with the nefarious activities that are associated with it, such as body chemicals harvested for regaining youth.

People need to stay tuned to the news on the Internet and forget the pablum and features of the mainstream media. We are now at a turning point for world history. If we continue on the present path of demonic, occult, and pagan practices, we will destroy America and take the world down with us.

This Spectator article names FBI officials facing prosecution instead of prosecuting suspects. There are many similar news outlets that are tracking the stories, plus hints from Q about what is coming soon. The Q posts come from military intelligence and require a good deal of translating and additional study.

The Oracle of Delphi spoke in riddles so the resident prophet interpreted the meaning of the sayings for the visitor. There are many sources for interpreting the Q posts. The media are ignoring this trend because it is independent of the managed news.

As we can see from church politics, the inept and corrupt surround themselves with weak and incompetent people. The church situation has developed ahead of the disaster in secular politics, but with the same results. Sadly, the institutional church has led the way and cheered for the sorry state of our nation.

This Day in History

Arkansas college's finances evidence at kickback trial

The kickback allegations also involve $550,000 of the more than $717,500 in state General Improvement Fund grants Ecclesia received from 2013 through 2014, the U.S. Department of Justice contends.

Arkansas college's finances evidence at kickback trial:

"The government did not request a copy of the college's long-range strategic plan to put into evidence, both Benca and defense attorney Shelly Koehler of Fayetteville brought out in cross-examination of Novak. Koehler is an attorney for Shelton. Yet the long-term plan is what the college was fundraising for, Novak testified under Benca and Koehler's cross-examination.

Ecclesia executives, including him, expected Shelton's efforts to take at least two years to begin to bear fruit, Novak testified. Little over a year passed between Shelton's first contract and the appearance of federal investigators at Paris' office, case records show.

News of the investigation, with federal agents first interviewing Paris in late 2014, also cut off enrollment growth, Novak testified. The college had as many as 130 students on campus before the investigation and has about 100 now, he said. Properties bought by the improvement fund grants were for additional student housing, but the need eased because enrollment went down, he said.

A staff recruiter told the blogger that the costs were still $30,000 for a student to attend Ecclesia, with Third World dorms, no sports facilities, a tiny library, and this strange combo-building as its main location. They already had plenty of land, but spent all the money on kickbacks and 50 more acres for a shrinking enrollment.

Woods directed a $200,000 grant to Ecclesia in September 2013, grant records show. Neal, of Springdale, supported a $50,000 grant to the college and Woods another $150,000 in December 2014, also according to grant records. The amount of money Woods is accused of receiving as a kickback isn't specified in the indictment. It claims much of that money was paid in cash, except for one transaction made to Woods by wire transfer for $40,000.

In one transaction, Paris authorized $50,000 to Shelton's firm on Sept. 27, 2013 -- the same day Paris signed an agreement for the college to accept a $200,000 state General Improvement Fund grant, the indictment says. Shelton used the $50,000 that day to open an account for his business, which had been incorporated the day before, the document reads.

Less than a week later, on or about Oct. 1, 2013, Shelton transferred $40,000 by wire from that business account into the personal bank account of Woods, according to prosecutors. Defense attorneys have said the money transfers to and from Woods were loans and money to pay back loans."

WELS Genius Lessons - Still Flunking Grammar and Spelling

Prayers and God's Blessings for the changes that are taking place with the Time of Grace broadcasts. After Easter Sunday 2019, Pastor Mark Jeske will be transitioning out of the role as lead speaker on the Time of Grace television program. As part of that transition, and to capture the next generation of viewers by injecting new energy into their core message, the role of lead speaker will be assumed by Pastor Mike Novotny of Appleton, Wisconsin—a stellar and talented pastor who adheres to the same messages of spiritual growth and renewal they’ve proclaimed all along. You may already be familiar with Pastor Mike because he has been a Time of Grace contributing writer, a regular speaker on the Your Time of Grace video devotions, and a host and occasional speaker on the Time of Grace television program. Production will be moving to 922Church The CORE in Appleton. In fact, filming already began there in early January 2018. Pastor Jeske's letter, in it's (sic) entirety, is below. We thank Pastor Jeske for his faithful service to our Lord through this ministry for the past 17 years and we welcome Pastor Novotny.

Jeske must be exhausted from giving the same "We ran out of Germans" lecture for the last 20 years.

GJ - it's means - it is.
To show possession, use its. I thought all the Mordor graduates were genius level linguists.

GJ - I find it amusing that they still pretend The CORE is a separate congregation when it is just another campus for the Tim Glende show.

Paul Defeats UOJ in the Introduction to Romans

 By Norma A. Boeckler

Romans 1 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. KJV

Last night we worked on Romans 1 in Greek.

One point I made was that the Christian Church does - or should not - declare doctrine based on a few words, or a partial verse, or even a favorite verse by itself.

The Bible teaches one doctrine, not many doctrines, so there are no bargaining chips. The Scriptures are the Book of Holy Spirit, one Truth revealed by God.

One of the old rules is often stated in seminary class but seldom observed - Scripture interprets Scripture. If we have trouble with the meaning of a passage, the "bright" passages illuminate the "dark" ones. The Word is quite plain, but given our era, our inclinations, our traditions, some passage may seem dark to us until compared to one more helpful.

I am convinced that many passages called "hard sayings" are especially clear and easy to teach once they are explained properly from the Word of God.

Universal Objective Justification - or just plain Objective Justification - is taught as "God declaring the entire world forgiven and saved" - based on Paul's teaching. Romans 1 is a good example of that dogma being exploded in advance, as the Gospel of John does many times over.

Do the sleeping sheep wonder why the "conservative" Lutherans celebrated the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation without saying Justification by Faith Alone? Instead, they slighted Luther as much as possible while selling Luther trinkets and gee-gaws.

Paul clearly teaches that the Gospel of Christ is the efficacious power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.

If we look at word order in the original text, which is often an indication of emphasis -
  • Gospel of Christ
  • Power of God
  • For salvation
  • Everyone who believes.
  By Norma A. Boeckler

That is why the current crop of crypto-Calvinists - neo-rationalists all - fuss around with if/then statements and all their little slogans that fill their little minds. They have completely given up the efficacy of the Word and no longer trust the Gospel to do the work of the Holy Spirit, so they turn to gimmicks, cheesy music, and the latest trends sold by the Fulleroids (a Fuller student who is a pain).

Paul teaches that the Gospel belongs to Christ and is the unique power of God that grants salvation to those who believe, Jew and Greek alike.

  By Norma A. Boeckler

Verse 17 is somewhat mysterious to those who lack a KJV or the Greek text of Romans. We are justified by the faith of Jesus.

Romans 3 22 δικαιοσυνη δε θεου δια πιστεως ιησου χριστου εις παντας και επι παντας τους πιστευοντας ου γαρ εστιν διαστολη - Stephanus edition

But the righteousness of God through the faith of Jesus Christ for all and upon all those believe, for there is no difference - Jackson Literal

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: KJV

Did Jesus not have faith? We should not overlook His human nature. We say He grew thirsty, hungry, angry, and amused - that He suffered and died. Did He not have faith in God the Father, that what was commanded and taught by the Father must be carried out and taught by Jesus?

The moderns are influenced by the spirit of Calvin, so they make up a grammatical rule and say, "According to our rule, that must be faith IN Jesus." A genitive (of Jesus) is a genitive. There is no way to determine if Paul meant an objective or subjective genitive, a category we apply after the fact. I did not know - until being at Mordor in Mequon - that defining a genitive could answer a doctrinal question.

So I think this verse is best answered by saying the righteousness of God is first revealed in the faith of Jesus and then creates faith in us (the Faith of Jesus Gospel as the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes).

The entire Bible is about faith, not unfaith. If we want to discover salvation without faith, we have to start with Calvin's election without faith, which sounds strangely like Walther's election without faith

And holy moly (a Greek herb, by the way) - Samuel Huber, a Calvinist in Lutheran clothing, taught Objective Justification at Wittenberg until Polycarp (fruitful) Leyser and Hunnius crushed him like a bug.

Someone can kidnap three people, steal land and gold and books after organizing a riot, and still be called The Great...? Only in the LCMS.
