Jeske Advocated State Slavery

grumpy has left a new comment on your post "Prayed with a Priest and a Rabbi? But What Is the P...":

You should willingly become a slave to the political state...I remember that inspiring video...no, the political state won't abuse you once you submit those hard won political freedoms...they will give them back once the situation becomes "normal" again.

Can you imagine if God allowed the same tribulations hitting Japan to hit the United States? How would our spiritual (WELS?) leaders react in such a crisis?

Points to ponder...

I had not seen that vid...excellent juxtapositions!

Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and unto GOD the thing's that are GOD'S!!!

From Matthew 24: "15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened."

We have free will according to Luther in regard to civil affairs. It is only free if at the time we choose we could have chosen otherwise.
Even so, that time, that moment of decision is always painfully short. – John 18:17

First and foremost, most of us Ichabodians recognize that temporal rule is a gift from God. Some may not believe this, but Luther's final comment on this was an appeal to a Christian's conscience. Naturally, Luther lived in a time when temporal rule was intertwined with the papacy. Comparisons between our time and his are sometimes difficult to make.
I have noticed one very strange trait among WELS trained called workers. They constantly appeal to Romans 13 in this matter. But, it always seems to gravitate toward an unquestioning obedience to authority. My theory is they do this to be consistent with their demand of unquestioning obedience to Holy Mother Synod.
I heard one non-Lutheran pastor say that it would be better to regard the "higher powers" of Romans 13 as the U.S. Constitution. This written document, along with the Bill of Rights, enumerates individual rights and is supposed to limit the scope of government.
The same applies to us as Christians in matters of faith, doctrine, and conscience. The Word of God is the final authority, and not the man made institution of a church body.

Seen it! Watched it several times. What made Pastor GJ FINALLY decide to post this video??? You know what the WELS leadership commented about the video back in 2008? NOTHING! Alex Jones and some of the alternative news people covered this story. There's more that Pastor Jackson is leaving out.(like WAY more) I have been continuously working on some behind the scenes business concering this specific topic. I will report on the findings at a later date.

In Christ,
