ChurchMouse Endorses Rogue Lutheran
churchmousec (http://churchmousec.wordpress.com/) has left a new comment on your post "Check Out Rogue Lutheran":
Agreed, Dr Jackson. Rogue Lutheran tackles subjects many others are loth to confront. Rogue's socio-political examination of Western society from a Christian perspective is refreshing and informative.

This is my denom. How sad.
For decades many Episcopalians and Anglicans have said of Pike, 'Oh, he's just an eccentric'; of Spong, 'Don't worry about him'; of Robinson, 'He's just one man, not a movement'; of Schori, 'Just ignore her' ... Where does it end?
Last year, I featured a post wherein the late Joe Pyne interviewed Bp Pike in the 1960s.
Those over 50 might remember Pyne's show. He was probably the original television shock and awe host. Limbaugh, Beck and the like pale by comparison. Pyne filmed in California before a live studio audience. He was blunt and to the point.
Here, he interrogates Bp Pike on the fundamentals of faith. Note how Pike cannot answer some of the questions and when he can, it's just weird. Second video, 33 seconds in -- interview is only two minutes long:

I hope that Bp Pike, who died in mysterious circumstances, reconciled himself to God at the end of his life.
There's more on Pike and the others I mentioned above in the Virtue Online comments -- see the link to the Psalm 19:7 blog.

GJ - ChurchMouse has good historical insights on his blog. Three wives mourned Bishop Pike when he died - another case of tenure allowing the worst excesses to go unchecked. If someone has held a church title a long time, he cannot be wrong, cannot be questioned.
