Notes from All Over Lutherdom

At MLC for "evangelism day" there will be drums and guitars and stuff. This is the future of WELS education, teaching that evangelism is a rock band.

"Update on Time of Grace: The praesidium of the Southeastern Wisconsin District provided a report to the Conference of Presidents describing its efforts to resolve questions involving the status of Time of Grace as a 'Recognized Service Organization' of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. While considerable progress has been made, the matter has not yet been fully resolved, and the Southeastern Wisconsin District Praesidium will continue its efforts to bring about a resolution." We will excommunicate you."

Impotent or complicit - one or the other.

Compare how they deal with Tim Glende and 'Change or Die' Jeske to how they dealt with the Krohns who faithfully upheld Christ's doctrine of Justification. Glende and Jeske - we're working on it. Krohns - excommunicated!

GJ - Or Rick Techlin. Rick, laity, and pastors tried to deal with doctrinal issues in the Anything Goes District. The result was that Tim Glende (who has a passion for Jesus) and Ski and Depitty Doug (who skipped the meeting) kiked Rick out, with no appeal.

This may signal the Mega-Death of the SMP program--maybe. Either that, or one seminary will get the chop. I can't imagine this will go down good in many quarters in the LCMS. Then again.

Bruce,

That is an informative piece.

Note that Buddhism does have an answer to suffering, it is called selfishness of man, but Buddha advocated that in order to rid of one's selfishness, he needs to be nothing, and he can do that by meditating. He advocated self salvation.

So I can buy into the piece's arguments, it is plausible the reason why Jobs became Buddhist.

I can see how LCMS can wiggle itself out of this, because all they have to do is pooh pooh Jobs and say he was an evil self serving man, that is, if Issues Etc broadcast is to be taken as a guide. They talked about him in one of their broadcasts and that seemed to be the theme.

"...have at least one specific prayer ministry in his/her congregation."

That would be the Divine Service, would it not? We all qualify!

What? The Divine Service isn't good enough? It's not good enough to pray for Synod in the Prayer of the Church? We've got to do more...more...more before prayer is effective?

What's that buzzing sound I hear? Enthusiasm!

Retitle this post as "The Hall of Shame." It is the "usual" suspects every time! No, it cannot be understood correctly and I will not put the best construction on it. Remember CHARIS? It was part of Church and Change. Bruce Eberle started CHARIS. Mr. Eberle is big-time buddies with Mark Jeske and was a part of the group that started Time Of Grace. Eberle raises money for all those neo-cons in Washington. He is the owner of the Paula Jones, Stacy Koon(Rodney King officer), and other Defense Funds. Another Time Of Grace partner is Tom Baxter. Baxter was(still is?) the Pentagon's Television Division Chief.

The same "usual suspects" are also the ones trying to push for the NNIV 2011.(Though you could add and subtract a few names.) This so-called translation is a fraud. This is a money changing scam in its ugliest form. Neo-con friend Rupert Murdoch will reap the rewards from all the sales. Murdoch is not who he claimes to be...but I will provide Pastor Jackson with personal updates.

Look, Kelm, Parlow, and Doebbler have been proven long ago to be copy-cats. Enough-is-Enough! It is time to throw the money-changers out of the temple. Furthermore, I want the government to stay out of my church. Take a stand, do not except that apostate NNIV 2011. I thank Pastor GJ for all the tremendeous work that he does on this blog. I thank the many pastors in the synod that preach the Word in its purity. These same pastors also promote the Lutheran Confessions. These "suspects" are the same ones on the anti-Time Of Grace Memorial and the opposition to the pasages of the NNIV 2011.(*with a very small margin of error among the names)

In Christ,
Rebecca

Enthusiasm?...

"One prayer at a time, the WELS Prayer Institute is working to “turn up the volume on the voice of prayer in the body of Christ”—motivated purely by the gospel of Christ."

"We encourage you to spend about 30 minutes per week in praying through this list (or some type of systematic praying)."

"The WELS PRAYER NETWORK (WPN) is not an official organization of the WELS . WPN was introduced in November 2004 as another ministry “spun off” from Church and Change, an informal gathering of WELS pastors, teachers, staff ministers and lay leaders"

What?!

Resources

Here is a list of solid Biblical resources on the subject of prayer. Why not learn more about this powerful gift?

Books on Prayer

Due to the high volume of materials published by a variety of people and denominations, some of the teachings in some of these books may not reflect the doctrinal teaching of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.

But we're not going to point out what these false teachings are or where they are located.

Wonderful pastoral care for the WELS masses!
