No wonder Matt is confused. The LMS-USA meeting seems to have been in Russia. I thought everyone knew about the LMS-USA. |
From the fortified bunker at Emmaus:
"There will not be a table available for your use, but we are glad to hear
of your interest in attending the conference.
Pastor Faugstad"
We had a table at a previous meeting and gave away lots of books and materials. Nothing was sold, but the message of justification by faith was not welcomed there, Bethany Lutheran Church was silenced again by the Enthusiasts, but not for long.
I did not realize our boycott was having an effect, but the honey-coated grouchiness of the email suggests otherwise.
The Board of Governors of the Emmaus Conference deserves a medal for picking the two most loathed representatives of Lutheran false doctrine today - Jon Buchholz and Jay Webber.
DP Jon Buchholz barely won re-election. His cause was not helped by his favoring of Jeff Gunn (Church and Change) and Jay Webber (ELS UOJ expert). Someone noted that Jon managed to offend both wings of that little district and could have been toppled with a word from Mark Schroeder.
Jay Webber has alienated WELS and ELS pastors alike as an "insufferable, arrogant, humorless, full-of-himself bore." And those are his good points.
This deadly pair may be annoying and lacking in sects appeal, but the fundamental problem is advocating the anti-Christian dogma of Universal Objective Justification.
