Since it is June, I need to finish The Bible Book: The KJV Reborn for Those Who Love the Word of God. I was aiming at a larger book for a time, but I decided not to pursue every topic with abundant information. Some call that "leaving no research note-card behind." A shorter volume makes it easier to have only color copies at a reasonable price. People can get started on the issues and read about them extensively.
The connection between Luther and the KJV is Tyndale, the translation that became the KJV. Why have Lutherans abandoned the English version of Luther's Bible?
I find the Greek New Testament fraud (Westcott-Hort-NIV-ESV) to be the key to the denominations' rapid switch to rationalistic Biblical "scholarship" - treating the Bible as merely a book by men about God. Those weighty books and "scholarly" journals have turned Biblical studies into a safe haven for skeptics, Unitarian-Universalists, and cell group leaders.
The post below this one - A Short Definition - may seem obscure, but it means that the Lutherans sects self-identified as - conservative or orthodox or confessional or orthodox - are another version of the mainline Protestant denominations of the National Council of Churches - strange bedfellows indeed. That claim is proven by the joyous participation of WELS-LCMS-ELS in chambering with ELCA. (Chambering is KJV for bed-hopping.) But the affinity with the NCC is also shown in those sects' rejection of the KJV, loathing of Luther, and promotion of Justification without Faith.

How did WELS geeks get into Church Growth, centered at the liberal, Pentecostal, all-denominations Fuller Seminary? They took classes there - with their LCMS, ELCA, Roman Catholic and ELS buddies. That got them and many others key synodical positions, a lot more money, perks galore, and far less parish work!
