Inward Loathing of Luther's Doctrine
Revealed by Outward Actions of Synodical Conference

Someone observed that the Reformation service at Martin Luther College (WELS) was 98% Law. I am only shocked by the 2% Gospel portion, a fairly large showing for a Wisconsin Synod event.

Luther said the sects talk about Jesus all the time, but they tear down the bridge to Jesus - the Means of Grace. Others have noticed that the furious advocacy of Universal Objective Justification ignores the Means of Grace, the efficacy of the Word, and the Holy Spirit always at work in the Word.

No wonder the WELS leaders default to the agenda of Fuller Seminary, Rick Warren, Mark Driscoll, Leonard Sweet, Ed Stetzer, Andy Stanley,  and Brian McLaren. They already have two gay activists among their favorite gurus - Stanley and McLaren.

UOJ unites WELS and LCMS with ELCA. It is so easy to work up materials about grace (without the Means of Grace) and never address the real issues.

The Reformation was a battle in the midst of a Muslim invasion. The war pitted the authority of the Scriptures against the authority of Holy Mother Church. Monopolies are nasty. They know there is no place to go. Holy Father Antichrist could use his own army, or threaten a king with an interdict, to get his way.

Many Lutherans are still in the Middle Ages. They think their own Holy Mother Sect and their own little Antichrist are the only alternatives. But the Word of God can and does gather people in all situations. God will prosper His Word (Isaiah 55) even if that means whipping up a storm for decades, as He did during the Reformation.

Massive bloody persecution drove Europeans across the ocean to find peace and freedom in America. The French Protestants who were not murdered on St. Bartholomew's Day were later driven out of the country or put on slave galleys, the Roman bishops watching with pleasure. One part of my family came from those French Protestants.

England suffered under the idiotic reign of the Stuarts (James I, et al.) who must have inspired No Call Paul and Herman Otten in their advocacy for Rome. My English relatives came over too. The richest man in Scotland loaned money to the king, sued for recovery of the funds, and was ruined by the king.

That encouraged another segment to come to America for a new start, and it was very hard work to get established and prosper when starting with raw land.

People continue to shock me by assuming they are still in the Middle Ages, waiting for permission to think for themselves. Anyone who questions Holy Mother Sect will pay for it - they are a vindictive and unforgiving bunch, addicted to power, seething when they are questioned.

Why make ourselves slaves to the law when we are already freed by the Gospel? The Bible does not say, "Except ye be born in the Milwaukee area, ye shall never see the Kingdom of God."

The synods say, "Trust in us," but the Bible says, "Trust in God."
