Understanding the Left Wing - In the Glory Days

Symbolism - Notre Dame, football, grapes, and obedience.

The incoming graduate students in theology - Notre Dame - were invited to a dinner with the new faculty member. It was a buffet which included a large display of foods, including grapes.

Murmuring began, because no one was supposed to use or buy grapes. The new faculty member did not know he was offending the cult of Left-wing advocacy. A doctoral student said to a few of us, "It's not that he brought grapes tonight. He did not even KNOW that the grapes mattered!"

No one mentioned grapes at Notre Dame again.
