Tons of Nitrogen Falling from the Sky

The rumbling sky suggests an all-day series of thunderstorms, followed by a few more tomorrow. We have had some good rain in the last few days, but this means a real soaker will make everything lush again. The radar is painting the picture of colorful and loud days ahead.

Growth from marketing is not inevitable. Growth from God's Word is. The morons who control and loot their synods cannot comprehend anything different from their Peter Drucker videos. If everyone listened to them, as I have, they would laugh their CPs, DPs, and SPs out of the room. The leaders are mismanagement experts, like the yahoos controlling Fuller Seminary, Willow Creek, and other dubious enterprises.

Growth from the Word of God is not necessarily numerical growth, but growth according to God's wisdom and foresight. Those who worry about their numbers and do nothing to scatter the living Seed of the Word? - they end up with nothing.

The few who trust the Word of God alone will always experience the cross and God's gracious miracles.

The Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago now has 12 faculty members and 11 degrees offered. They brag that they are a small school, but fail to mention the seven (give or take) seminaries merged into one colossal failure.

Mordor, also known as the Sausage Factory (Jay Webber joke), spent a fortune on remodeling their school so they could house even fewer students. No one among the usual suspects has thought of free tuition and faithful teaching.

The Giving Counselors are "called by God" to turn grandma's estate into an irrevocable charitable annuity trust, so the synod can feast on the money.

 "Make mine a double!"

At the Central Illinois District Convention in July, the following information was shared with delegates on the current status of vacant LCMS parishes:

1. There are 475 vacant LCMS parishes who are actively calling a pastor.

In the recent past this number has been about 400.

2 There are 1,000 vacant LCMS congregations who cannot afford to call and pay a salary for a full-time pastor.   There are about 5,900 parishes in the entire LCMS.

The Purple Palace for the LCMS rests on land once owned by the nearby Catholic high school. WELS has a similar Vatican. But much can be done from a spare room in a rented house, if they but trusted in the Means of Grace.

GJ - Actively calling a pastor - from what I hear - means trolling for candidates, waiting for various things to happen, and getting turned down. This can go on for several years.

The synod and district presidents have treated many pastors like dirt, but they protect and promote clergy who would have been jailed in days past.

America is watching the collapse of the denomination system, which let their headquarters take over the decisions and the money mismanagement.
