An Evening with Coffee, Hummingbirds, and the Military Gardening Group[

This evening, Ranger Bob showed up to meet the FedEx truck delivering his truck parts. We order on the computer (RockAuto and Summit Racing), usually half the price of auto parts stores.

We brought Christina and Sassy out to enjoy the relatively cool evening. PFC could not be there.

First off, a hummingbird decided to scan Bob's face, and it was not the first time. The thrill is there each time, to see a tiny bird with blurred wings hovering two feet away. What made me laugh was the bird doing the same for Sassy - now enrolled on the Hummingbird Friends List. Sassy ignored the honor.

We had Ethiopian pour-over coffee, one of my favorites. PFC likes acid-free Sumatra, which I like, too. We keep that especially for him.

This morning I watered the Rose Garden and the Calla Lilies - they are in bloom a-gain, really they are, and need the water. Tomorrow will mean more watering since rain will not arrive until Saturday.

The house is suffused with the fragrance of flower arrangements for Christina. She is enjoying them. Bob said, "Wow!"

This is today's gratuitous kitty photo.
