I adopted my neighbor's efficiency in shoveling early and using solar melting power. Alone in the silence, I let Charlie out...afraid of all that snow. She immediately pranced on her hind legs and loved the snow, licked the snow for moisture, and wanted to explore here and there.
We went in to thaw out and came back to find a large thawed patch from my first scrape down to the mailbox. Not unlike the Panama Canal engineers, I created more space.
Local stores and schools are doubtless halted for now. I expect tomorrow's driveways to be packed down with ice. Mine will be melted dry.
