Oren Paris III Is Now in Federal Prison - Sentence - Three Years

Oren Paris III, DMin, is now at the Marion, Illinois Prison Camp. Arkansas state lawmakers gave him enormous grants in return for "consultant fees."

MARION, Ill. (KNWA) -- Oren Paris III, former president of Ecclesia College, reported to federal prison Wednesday.
Paris checked into Marion, Illinois Minimum Security Prison Camp at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Paris was sentenced to three years in prison for fraud charges involving a kickback scheme that diverted funds to Ecclesia from the state's general improvement fund.
He will also have to pay more than $600,000 in restitution.
His co-conspirators, former state senator Jon Woods and consultant Randell Shelton, were also convicted. They both reported to prisons in Texas earlier this month.

***
GJ - This is my last post on the Ecclesia College scandal in Arkansas, unless Oren wins a free pass because the FBI agent erased some evidence.
The Paris family was uniquely unqualified to run a college, especially when they devoured so much income for themselves. No one had the academic qualifications or experience in higher education.
I did not know about the fraud when I left, but I knew they were not being responsible with the funds. Higher education is big money. A college can get $30,000 for a year of room, board, and tuition. Only 100 students will generate $3 million. At Ecclesia, that money came from the families, Arkansas lottery money, and student loans.
Oren was always looking for an easy buck, and he loved being involved in state politics. The politicians needed a cause to fund so they could be "consultants" for directing their money. So the easy buck found Oren. Everything was kept a secret, even from the inbred board.
Oren admitted that he knew it was wrong from the start, but he entered a pleas of not-guilty until his trial came up. Contrition and confession came only at sentencing.

Michigan District LCMS Invites Fuller Professor Bullslinger To Teach Them Wisdom

Is there an Olympic medal for riding a bike to betray one's confession of faith?
Lawrence Otto Olson got his Drive-Buy DMin at Fuller $eminary.
How much has WELS grown since?
I hope these insights were shared with the Michigan District. How soon Calvinism returns to the house once swept and garnished!
"Now when the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it. 44) "Then it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came'; and when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and garnished. 45) "Then it goes and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation." Matthew 12:43-45

Just back from the LCMS Michigan District all pastors' conference. The theme for the conference was "Metanoia: Living in change" with the Rev. Dr. Tod Bolsinger from Fuller Theological Seminary as the keynote speaker. One can go to the Michigan District web site https://michigandistrict.org/ for more information.

BIO

Tod Bolsinger joined Fuller Seminary in 2014 as vice president for vocation and formation and assistant professor of practical theology, and he now serves as vice president and chief of leadership formation. Ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 1993, Dr. Bolsinger served as senior pastor of San Clemente Presbyterian Church from 1997 to 2014. Prior to that he was associate pastor of discipleship and spiritual formation at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood.
Holding both a PhD in Theology and Master of Divinity from Fuller $eminary, Bolsinger taught graduate-level classes in theology for 14 years at Fuller’s regional campus in Orange County prior to joining the seminary’s regular faculty. He has extensive experience in church and nonprofit consulting and executive coaching, and writes infrequent weblogs on church and leadership formation. His faculty role at Fuller includes teaching the Practices of Vocational Formation class and a cohort in Leading Change for DMin students.

Three Articles in One - No Better Time To Join the Church of Rome

Pope Francis and the equally corrupt Cardinal Wuerl.
Read this about Wuerl's man Rossi.
Cardinal McCarrick and big money.

Pope Francis accepts resignation of Cardinal Donald Wuerl, appoints him interim DC leader

.- Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Washington’s Cardinal Donald Wuerl on Friday, while asking the cardinal to continue leading the Archdiocese of Washington on an interim basis until a permanent successor is appointed.

In a letter to Wuerl obtained by CNA Oct. 12, Pope Francis told the cardinal: “Your renunciation is a sign of your availability and docility to the Spirit who continues to act in his Church.”
“In accepting your resignation, I ask you to remain as Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese until the appointment of your successor.”
Wuerl, 77, originally submitted his resignation on Nov. 12, 2015, when he turned 75 years old, as required by canon law.
The pope said Friday that he had also received a Sept. 21 request from Wuerl that his resignation be accepted.
“This request rests on two pillars that have marked and continue to mark your ministry: to seek in all things the greater glory of God and to procure the good of the people entrusted to your care,” Pope Francis wrote.
In the Oct. 12 letter accepting Wuerl’s resignation, Francis defended the cardinal from the widespread criticism he has faced in recent months.
“You have sufficient elements to ‘justify’ your actions and distinguish between what it means to cover up crimes or not to deal with problems, and to commit some mistakes.”

GJ - The partially copied and two linked articles give an indication of the corruption and degradation of the Church of Rome. I doubt whether it was any worse during Luther's time or the eras in-between.

Some contend that the pope's seat is in fact vacant (Wiki).
The term has been adopted in Sedevacantism, an extreme[11][12][13] strand of the Catholic traditionalist movement. Sedevacantists believe that all popes since the Second Vatican Council have been heretics, and that therefore the see of Rome is vacant.

No Better Time To Join the Church of Rome
The faithful Lutheran laity and clergy should consider why LCMS-WELS have so much in common with Rome - and in so many ways. The three churches are quite full of themselves and teach Universalism - UOJ.

WELS clergy are not as intoxicated with Rome and Eastern Orthodoxy as the LCMS seminary graduates are. But Rome, Missouri, and the Wisconsin Sect have a great love for Fuller Seminary gimmicks.

So we have LCMS guys longing to join Rome or to play priest in their sect. UOJ is the great harmonizer - low-church and high-church. Let not faith get in the way.

They make up for their Universalism, they think, with persnickety, fussy attention to all the externals. "Oh, Lair, that incense is hideous. Where did you buy it? Ikea?"
Luther explained how peacocks are so pretty and vain but make a raucous sound when they open their mouths. They are sad because their foundation - their doctrine - is so ugly.

Luther and the Blue Glasses

The manner of all sects is to adopt a special opinion without consulting the Word; this opinion then hangs continually before their eyes, like blue glasses, and everything they see is blue, that is, according to their own opinion. But they are knaves, as St. Paul calls them, Ephesians 4, where he admonishes us to be no more “carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.”

Every one should, for this reason, flee, as if the devil himself were in pursuit, from sects and fanatics, like the Pope, the Sacramentarians and others, who try to substitute human notions for the written Word. If we yield to such as these, we step, as it were, from the rock into the quicksand, where, the more we try to gain a foothold, the more we sink, and where it is impossible to save ourselves. God's Word alone is the true and enduring rock that affords a sure foundation. Let him, therefore, who would walk in the right way, see that he has God's Word.
From “Tenth Passion Sermon” on Matt 27:33-56.

Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Analogy of Faith and Clues from the Apostate Lutherans

Someone sent me this boot to use for WELS extending the
Left Foot of Fellowship. Dave and Steve Valleskey failed the Justification quiz.

The Analogy of Faith post demonstrated that people can take a phrase from Paul and turn it upside down. The concept is to teach the Scripture from the unified truth of the revealed Word, but the Romanists and Calvinists say it must be from the perspective of their denominations.

Needless to say, that is the opposite of what Luther practiced and Paul taught. The Zwingli-Calvinist sects made a point of disputing the key Biblical points Luther emphasized by careful exegesis: Justification by Faith, the efficacy of the Word, the Means of Grace, and the Sacraments as the visible Word. But now the "conservative" Lutherans - LCMS/WELS/ELS - promote the wisdom of safe sects, the source of great riches and wealth. Like "Church Growth Eyes"?

False teachers give many clues while pulling the wool over our eyes, the fleece over their rapacious jaws and gleaming eyes.
I noticed from the recent search of Subjective Justification in the precious WELS Ecstasy Files - the authors could spout every honor given to the Chief Article - Justification by Faith - while applying those honors to their obsession - Objective Justification, World Absolution without Faith.

Frosty Bivens failed the Justification quiz, so he taught at Mordor.

Frosty Bivens, Mark Zarling, and Steve Valleskey performed this pit maneuver, a little jolt to spin Justification by Faith off the road and out of our memory. Overtly or covertly, they bring down a thousand curses on anyone who dares to oppose  their falsehoods. Thus the sheep are slaughtered and scattered, the shepherds manacled.  Meanwhile, the heirs of Martin Stephan, STD, will protect their fellow-heirs, their fellow-errorists.

Yes, they apply the Calvinist version of the Analogy of Faith. Every Scriptural passage must be in harmony with UOJ. The control element is UOJ, not the Scriptures, so the following "prove" UOJ, yuk, yuk:

  1. Raised for our justification - Romans 4:25, but not 4:25!
  2. Who takes away the sins of the world - John 1:29; ignore the Fourth Gospel's theme of faith.
  3. Peace on earth, good will toward men - Luke 2:14
  4. It is finished - John 19:30.
  5. Justified in the spirit - 1 Timothy 3:16
  6. 2 Corinthians 5:31 - He became sin for us.
Not one of those passages even implies world absolution without faith, yet the Halle Pietists and now the modern Catholics and mainline Protestants teach that cowardly Universalism as basic.

The trouble with the rubes who run the Lutheran synods is that they are too ignorant to know they are simply repeating the blasphemies of the mainlines - like ELCA - in a slightly different form. I studied Tillich, Barth, Bultmann, Rahner, and many others at Notre Dame. When I discovered what the SynCons were teaching, I thought - "Oh yes, modern apostate liberalism." The roots are the same - Pietism and the rationalism from that anti-credal movement.

John Sparky Brenner failed the Justification quiz, so he is a professor at Mordor in Mequon.

They Cannot Say the Words - Justification by Faith
These apostates have one thing in common - being allergic to faith, they cannot say these words - Justification by Faith.

They imply their SJ is Justification by Faith. That is, they let their blind followers think that. They also let them think OJ is the Atonement, though they reject that in their sacred - or is that scared - writings.

By corrupting the clear words of the Chief Article, they pollute the meaning - on purpose. Follow Dr. John Sparky Brenner as he refers to the Chief Article as the Individual Appropriation of Forgiveness.

As St. Paul wrote, inspired by the Holy Spirit, Romans 5
Therefore since our sins are individually appropriated, we have peace...

Down on the Rose Farm - In the Ocean of Life Called the Soil

Queen Elizabeth

A physician knows Dr. Walter Lammerts well - so much in common. We know two doctors with seminary training and the science education to become doctors. Today's MDiv-physician brought up Lammerts, who not only earned a PhD in genetics, but also developed the Queen Elizabeth and Chrysler Imperial roses. Lammerts advocated the Biblical six-day Creation.

We got home and awaited our garden helper. These were jobs I could do on my own. However, they went faster and were more fun with a helper. Before I could look around, he fixed the flat on my wheelbarrow.

Our first job was creating a green fence with Wild Ginger Hidden Lily. As I have written, this bargain rhizome has produced well and prospered with little help from me. The butterfly garden is getting established, so I wanted to move most of the Wild Ginger plantation. One day, some paleontologist may write, "This plant took over a neighborhood and drove everyone away. It was the Tumeric Terror."

Wild Ginger Hidden Lily loves the sun and spreads from rhizomes.

We shoveled the plants up out of the soil, lifted the plants with their root balls over the fence, and replanted them along Mrs. Wright's fence. The plants are six feet tall. The soaker hose worked great, with several squirrel holes in it, ideal for watering two plants and nothing else.

When we started six years ago, we had too much shade, too much grass, unkempt trees, and plenty of space. Ranger Bob and a neighbor's cousin trimmed back the trees to give us more sunlight. The shrubs and berries I bought from Almost Eden have all grown well. Now I have fun dividing and moving plants around.

Bird swing? I thought it was a squirrel seat.

We also planted more bulbs today, thanks to the recent rain and cold weather. We can open up the soil, drop bulbs in the hole, and expect flowers to come up at the perfect time for their health and growth. Most of them are daffodils, which do well in this climate. I gave away some bulbs and got the same number back - but in hyacinths and aliums (garlic flowers), a good mix.

On damp days, the earthworms wiggle out of the garden onto the driveway. I tell people how fungal connections feed all the plants as I take their autumn leaves away. They have too many leaves - I have too few.

This will be my daisy project next week, weather allowing. We will dig holes around the maple tree, divide one or two daisy clumps, and insert them around the maple. They can be tucked in with peat compost (Stinky Peat), establish root growth in the winter, and spread in the spring.

My gardening plans are similar to the parish. I keep doing those things which are beneficial without assuming any particular results. For instance, we have many ways of spreading God's Word: blogging, Internet services, books, Kindle, and free PDFs. I visit members and they come here. Sassy and I walk around the neighborhood and become part of their lives. And yet it was the broadcast that brought our neighbor to the Christian faith and Holy Baptism before she died. The Bible says nothing about planning, but quite a bit about trusting God's effective Word and broadcasting it (originally an agricultural term) with reckless abandon.

With gardening, we thought roses would be great. I plant them everywhere we live and give the plants away. Jessical Walliser got me involved with beneficial bugs, which paralleled an interest of many - butterflies. Plant it and they will come.

I found a beetle that lives off Butterfly Weed - once I grew it. I planted Joe Pye Weed, and butterflies multiplied. Now we have a wide variety of plants that support the eggs of beneficial bugs or their parents, a family church of sorts.

The analogy should be clear. If I do those things that support a garden and beneficial creatures, the results will be startling over time. There are always disasters, no shows, and garden celebrities. The Hot Cocoa rose I bought as a leftover bargain draws attention all the time.

Matt Harrison, LCMS, and CPH Promoting Justification without Faith in Two, New Junkyard-Worthy Publications

One more time - The Chief Article is Justification by Faith.
OJ is justification of the entire world without faith - the exact opposite.

Missouri 1901 Catechism

Catechism Quotations Gathered by Team Ichabod

Navigation Page for Confessing the OJ Gospel and the OJ Catechism

SP Harrison has perpetuated a fraud, publishing a Talmudic dogmatics book (two volumes) and a Small Catechism (400+ pages) that teach against the Biblical doctrine of Justification by Faith.

On page 209 is the language of OJ without the term - OJ is also absent in the index. However, this work states:

"Both the active and the passive obedience of Christ have been credited to us and are received through faith."

Note the order - already credited (world absolution without faith) and are received (world absolution without faith agreed upon).

Another weasel phrase is correct by itself but used to prop up OJ - justification of the sinner. Edward Preuss' OJ book was The Justification of the Sinner: everyone is forgiven before birth. No really. That is a work of genius, according to Walther.

Here is the slide presentation. Clever? Keep the real agenda off the printed page and insert it through a PowerPoint.

•So objective [general] justification is forgiveness Christ won for all (2 Cor. 5:19–21).
–His work is an objective reality — salvation and forgiveness for the world is accomplished, independent of any other human action or merit.
•And subjective [individual] justification is this same forgiveness as it is received through faith by individuals (Gal. 2:16; Titus 3:3–7).
–The individual “subject” is justified, born again.
