A group of WELS congregations had a joint Ascension Day service at one of their churches. The service had no sermon at all, but ice cream was served afterward.

More rumor and hearsay. Typical for this site.
Yeah but just think of how many people you can bring into the fold by just serving up ice cream?? What's so wrong with that? We wouldn't want to scare them off by preaching God's Word in it's truth and purity. Nobody wants to hear that these days. C'mon, get with the program!
