Icha-peek: Cardiologist Loves Fuhrman's Work

I talked to a couple about Fuhrman's books and sent them several titles. They obtained even more - Fuhrman is on YouTube. They went together to see the cardiologist, and the doctor loves Fuhrman's idea.

Gerhardt Hymn - Oh Enter Lord Thy Temple

"Oh, Enter, Lord, Thy Temple"
by Paul Gerhardt, 1607-1676

Tune - Zeuch ein - linked here

1. Oh, enter, Lord, Thy temple,
Be Thou my spirit's Guest,
Who gavest me, the earth-born,
A second birth more blest.
Thou in the Godhead, Lord,
Though here to dwell Thou deignest,
Forever equal reignest,
Art equally adored.

2. Oh, enter, let me know Thee
And feel Thy power within,
The power that breaks our fetters
And rescues us from sin;
Oh, wash and cleanse Thou me
That I may serve Thee truly
And render honor duly
With perfect heart to Thee.

3. Thou art, O Holy Spirit,
The true anointing Oil,
Through which are consecrated
Soul, body, rest, and toil
To Christ, whose guardian wings,
Where'er their lot appointed,
Protect His own anointed,
His prophets, priests, and kings.

4. Thou, Holy Spirit, teachest
The soul to pray aright;
Thy songs have sweetest music,
Thy prayers have wondrous might.
Unheard they cannot fall,
They pierce the highest heaven
Till He His help hath given
Who surely helpeth all.

5. Thy gift is joy, O Spirit,
Thou wouldst not have us pine;
In darkest hours Thy comfort
Doth ever brightly shine.
And, oh, how oft Thy voice
Hath shed its sweetness o'er me
And opened heaven before me
And bid my heart rejoice!

6. All love is Thine, O Spirit;
Thou hatest enmity;
Thou lovest peace and friendship,
All strife wouldst have us flee;
Where wrath and discord reign,
Thy whisper kindly pleadeth
And to the heart that heedeth
Brings love and light again.

7. Our path in all things order
According to Thy mind,
And when this life is over
And all must be resigned,
Oh, grant us then to die
With calm and fearless spirit
And after death inherit
Eternal life on high.

The Giant Poke Weed Next to a Giant Joe Pye, Both Ready to Bloom

I was admiring the Rose Garden this morning, from lilies to roses to the giant Joe Pye Weed. Everyone is enjoying all the color from roses, Caladiums, and lilies. I had my eye on two Joe Pye Weeds, already six feet tall and loaded with buds.

Wait a minute. I looked back and forth. One was a genuine Joe Pye. The neighbor was a Poke Weed. They had a similar shape and height, identical color, a deep green, sprawling branches soaking up solar energy (soon to be banned or taxed by Joe Biden).

 The Poke buds look like this now, but still green.

 Those green Poke buds turn red and become juicy but almost tasteless berries.

 Pollinators help the process as the green turns to white and then red.

The giveaway is the bud formation now, the fruit later. Then the bushes really depart from each other. Poke will turn the white baby buds into berries loved by birds. The Joe Pye will have scented compound flowers.

 Joe Pye buds are quite different from Poke. They form compound flowers with a vanilla scent. Butterflies and Hummingbirds love them.

Some will shout, "Cut down the Poke Weed." As long as it is growing, it is fertilizing the soil and providing food for the birds. If it is too much of a bully, I can cut some of it at the base and let more sunshine in.

The Joe Pye can be trimmed back too, but is now in its most valuable stage as it goes into bloom.
