Keys to Grace Lutheran Church Given to 67 Disgruntled Members Per Judge's Order; Voting Rights of 1700 Grace Members Also Taken Away - Exposing the ELCA

WELS and LCMS leaders gladly work with these clowns,
then act superior to them,
holier than ELCA.
WELS just stole a church they kicked out of their sect -
St. John Lutheran in Milwaukee.

Keys to Grace Lutheran Church Given to 67 Disgruntled Members Per Judge's Order; Voting Rights of 1700 Grace Members Also Taken Away - Exposing the ELCA:

(From Dean Kallenbach)

Friends,

This morning, on advice of their attorneys, the leadership of Grace Lutheran Church followed yesterday's order by Circuit Court Judge Molly GaleWyrick and turned over the keys of the congregation to a representative of the attorney of the break-away group Amazing Grace at 11:27 this morning.

The congregation was originally planning to withhold the keys, even at the risk of jail, but their attorney Jay Heit advised that it would risk multiple contempt charges, and only delayed the inevitable.  By turning over the keys, the duly-elected Grace leadership no longer faces risk of jail.

A group of two dozen people or so worked this morning to assemble a newsletter -- Pastor Irgens finished writing his comments at 4 a.m. today.  I'll share those comments later in a separate email when time permits.

Members of the news media interviewed Pastor Irgens and Jay Heit, the attorney representing Grace (as opposed to the breakaway group).  Some things overheard from those interviews:

Attorney Heit said "As of right now, we're out, they're in, with "they" referring to the 67 people represented by Amazing Grace.  "We gave those keys away, and someday, we hope to get them back."

Both Heit and Pastor Irgens said Grace plans to file an appeal with the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.

Pastor Irgens said "The (ELCA Northwest) Synod Council has no right to determine who is a member of Grace Lutheran Church.  Membership can only be decided by the Grace Lutheran Church constitution."  All of the members who did not join the breakaway group Amazing Grace are now considered to be associate members.  Pastor Irgens estimated that number to be 1,700 people.

Pastor Irgens called the judge's decision "an affront to the judicial system."

Pastor Irgens pointed out that, despite the two-year court fight, Grace Lutheran has continued to grow in serving its mission and is financially sound.  He said Grace's position has been one of standing by the Gospel.

"Do we believe Jesus Christ is just a symbol as the social statements (of the ELCA) say, or do we believe that he is the person and son of God?  Times are changing.  If the ELCA can seize property and give it to a schismatic group, they can do anything."

The individuals who have now been displaced as members of Grace Lutheran Church by the judge's ruling plan a meeting tonight at Faith Lutheran Mission Church in Eau Claire to decide next steps.

More tonight....

Rebuke Them Sharply, That They May Be Sound in Faith:
Forgotten Words in an Age of Apostasy

The namby-pambies have brought about the apocalypse of the visible church, never rebuking correctly with the Word of God, but always rebuking with the word of man.

KJV Matthew 19:13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

KJV Mark 8:32 And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. 33 But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

KJV Luke 23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

KJV Hebrews 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

KJV 1 Timothy 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

KJV 2 Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

KJV Titus 1:13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith.

KJV Titus 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Matthew 7:15-23 was our Gospel reading for today. This is in the same vein. Those false prophets, who brag about what they do for Jesus in their self-impressed pietism, will hear, "I never knew you; depart from me." "Look at me, Jesus," will result in a reply of, "I'm not impressed."

A family member of mine, who likes to get little digs and jabs in from time to time, is on the Beth Moore "doctrine divides" kick. The Trinity is doctrine. The Incarnation is doctrine, as are the Cross and the empty tomb. Christ's two natures are just silly doctrine which divides? This is the point of our Gospel for today. What one believes about Jesus is infinitely more important than what one does for Jesus.

This is another consequence of the "flavor-of-the-week" pietism of UOJ, Arminianism, Calvinism, and Anabaptism. This is why we keep the Three Creeds, because this is a summary of the Christian Faith and our doctrine, the Bible in a nutshell, if you will. This is why Word and Sacrament are central to the Christian Faith. It really is all about our Triune God and what He does for us. Any good works we sin-tainted creatures do are still all about Jesus.

Apr. 23, 2013

Dear Pastor,

A mailing was recently sent to your congregation about the Women's Leadership Conference being held at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary on Friday and Saturday, July 19-20, 2013. This conference is being hosted by the Women's Ministry Committee, part of WELS Commission on Adult Discipleship.

Please encourage the women in your congregation to take a look at the Web site and consider attending. Help us get the word out about this conference and share this opportunity for spiritual growth and encouragement with our sisters in faith.

The conference is meant for women who are in any type of leadership position in the congregation, secular realm, or are perhaps spiritual leaders in their own homes. This conference is designed to help them learn and apply scriptural principles in their everyday lives, to help them serve in a manner pleasing to God and consistent with his Word. You know better than anyone who in your congregation would appreciate and benefit from this conference.

Printable publicity materials are available online. Registration closes June 15 and space may be limited. Learn more about Women's Ministry, and the conference on our Web site.

We sincerely appreciate your help and support.

Serving our risen and ascended Savior,

Marilyn Miller

WELS Welfare Queen News: Glende's Illinois Parish Denied Mission Support, Cannot Pay Bills

WELS gave Glende an enormous gift to buy this bankrupt bar in downtown Appleton,
and they loaned Glende the money to remodel and Febreeze it.
The architecture is pure WEF - ugly.

Actual text of letter from WELS Headquarters -

WELS Mission Board
The Love Shack

Milwaukee, WI 53222
Pastor Keith Free

Dear Star of Bethlehem,

We have denied your request for mission aid, because we gave it away to The CORE in Appleton and you are not John Brug's nephew.

We are sorry you sold a paid-for building on the campus of the U. of Illinois, rented space for a long time, and built a church on the far edge of town, next to a cornfield. You cannot borrow any more money because you are not John Brug's nephew.

We are sorry so many members left the congregation during that terrible time of trial. We thought it was a great idea to get rid of a campus location. The LCMS did the same thing, and Matt Harrison approved. And besides, you are not John Brug's nephew.

We note the irony that you are now dug deep into debt to us for exchanging a great location on the campus for a terrible location outside of town and away from students, but you are not John Brug's nephew.

If you were John Brug's nephew, you would be studying under the great leaders of Lutheran evangelism, just as we do at the Mission Board - Groeschel, Stanley, Stetzer, Driscoll, Hybels, Sweet, Weakland, and Beeson. You would be looking for a cool non-church name, with no reference to Lutheran, which is a real downer for growth.

Our Leonard-Sweet-Name program has the following suggestions for your new church name:
1. Star of the Cornfield.
2. My Illini.
3. Callin' the Hogs.

We cannot start you all over again with that new name, and give you mission support, because you are not John Brug's nephew.

Perhaps our dear friend DP Don Patterson will coach you for a small monthly fee. He is a friend of Tim Glende, so he might give you a discount, because Tim is John Brug's nephew.

Please take comfort in the fact that you were born forgiven and entered this darkling world saved. Even though you are not John Brug's nephew, you have the assurance that you are in the best denomination of all - but please take it off your letterhead. We have noticed that mission prospects run away screaming and crying when they see WELS.

Goodbye and good luck.

Keith Free,
your passionate about sharing Jesus servant
