Stetzer Is Still Being Promoted by The Love Shack Staff

You thought Stetzer was gone from WELS? Ha! You are paying synod staff to promote Stetzer in WELS.

Brothers and Sisters in Mission:

I encourage you to view and perhaps pass on to others the following media clips (if you agree they have value). The six headings are:

1. Introductions, The State of the Church in the U.S, Re-Focusing on the Lost (9:26)

2. The Bridge to What God Desires, The Keys to Change (6:06)

3. The First 100 Days of Change (7:15)

4. The Role of Leadership/Teamwork (8:44)

5. Mistakes to Avoid (7:33)

6. A Word to Denominational Leaders - Making it About the Mission, Not the Machine (10:58)

Dr. Ed Stetzer (currently President of Lifeway Research and author of “Comeback churches” and many others) is being interviewed by a couple of denominational leaders in the Illinois District of the Assemblies of God. Of course, we would have much more to say about the gospel, means of grace, faithfulness to the Word, etc. if we were participating in the interview. But still, these media clips have some excellent content, the likes of which we need to be talking about in WELS.

Elton,

Thanks. This kind of stuff is invaluable, even when it comes from heterodox sources.

Kenn Kremer - Editor, WELS Parents Crosslink.

Kelm would not budge with the Leonard Sweet Church and Change conference. Could he also be backing this Stetzer promo?

GJ - This is what I mean, readers, about WELS Conventional Wisdom. Plenty of exposure got Stetzer dis-invited from the November 2009 Church and Change Conference. However, shortly after that, the secretive sect is promoting Stetzer as invaluable and excellent. Who is promoting this? Team Kelm - two synod staff members, Stroh and his Amen Corner - Kremer.

This is what is known as "paying lip service to the Means of Grace."
If it's about the Means of Grace, then why the need for all the "valuable insights" from the likes of Stetzer?

Hmmm Paul? Paul. Paul! PAUL!!! Snap out of it Paul, you're drooling! Oh, I see Paul, everyone is drooling over the wisdom of the world.

See ya,
Mind numbingly litergical.

This is EXACTLY why I am searching for a church home outside of WELS. Would it not be better if pastors pointed members to Scripture instead of Ed Stetzer?

"You thought Stetzer was gone from WELS? Ha! You are paying synod staff to promote Stetzer in WELS."

What a stubborn, stiff-necked, gangster mentality. They will do as they please, and we are to obey and support them.

The FBI should have investigated the missing funds -- not Kuske.

WELS has adopted the Obama attitude that if members do not speak up and resist they get what they deserve. In other words, they deserve to have their religion trashed and pillaged.

How many anti-christs infest the WELS leadership? Count them. They are replacing scripture with deception and entertainment.

Whom will fill the shoes of Tony Soprano for 1st VP?

You must remember however, that CGM is a rather amorphous thing, it changes, it takes on different forms. It is hard to pin down. Most WELS members are not nearly prepared to stand up to or understand it. Some things sound good, but they are poisonous and so quick to beguile even the most cautious soul. Even well meaning pastors have found themselves unable to withstand the onslaught of its effects. I found this in a gradualism approach that was being used in my church. Many of the things all by themselves do not constitute a terrible thing, but in unison and eventually, they take on a completely different meaning and supplant the Means of Grace.

With only about 30% WELS members being actively fed on the Word and Sacrament with any regularity, they are ripe for raping. With the remaining folks left, very, very few are hearing their pastors actively refering to the Lutheran Confessions and hearing a bolstering reliance upon Word and Sacrament other than with a passing reference (known as lip service.) Fewer still are taking an active approach to twart CGM. To the rest out there, keep up the good work and keep on doing it.

Satan is about to sift the WELS like wheat and is already thrashing with the mechanism of Church and Change and CGM. These are the tools that are making conservatives go down the same path of the Emmergant Church. In fact it is becoming one with the Emmergant Church with willing WELS men and women drinking at the fount of fellowship with the heterodox and apostate rock star leaders in modern day evangelicalism.

Dead Orthodoxy
(I am closing my comments with gems of monikers I have heard from CGM WELS leaders and laity)
