Abuse Alarm – Liturgical Dancing and Puppets

"How can people call this a Catholic liturgy??? UNbelievable. As Fr. Philip Neri warns, don’t watch this video while drinking liquids. It’s like a show! Lots of dance numbers, lots of celebrants, lots of leavened bread…lots of liturgical abuses.
Yes, this took place at the West Coast Call To Action conference. Who’s that? Let’s look at their conference speakers:
Victoria Rue, M.Div., Ph.D. is a feminist theologian, and writer, director, and teacher of theatre. She teaches at San Jose State University in Comparative Religious Studies and Women’s Studies. Victoria also presides at monthly liturgies of the Sophia Catholic Community in Santa Cruz and at a weekly Eucharist at SJSU.
Bishop Remi de Roo, purportedly the youngest bishop at the Second Vatican Council, who said in an interview, “You’re not going to get the young people unless you’re willing to accept modern culture and give it the right to express itself in liturgy,” spoke about–you guessed it–the “true spirit” of Vatican II.
Robert Blair-Kaiser of takebackourchurch.org. “Take Back Our Church”? Isn’t this God’s Church? His Bride? The one He established? Am I inhaling too much incense here, people???
And of course there are Jesuits aplenty. I know there are some wonderful, faithful and orthodox Jesuits out there–take Fr. Mitch Pacwa. But let’s face it, there are lots who aren’t. They were at the WCCTA conference."

In WELS and the Little Sect on the Praire, all roads lead back to Jeske, Kelm, Parlow, Patterson, Valleskey, Roth, Witte, Aderman, Bruce Becker, and Wayne Mueller.

Well, this sure isn't a WELS service....EVERYONE knows that in the WELS dancing is a SIN !!!
At least it was back when I was in school....
Now, being 3 sheets to the wind on beer was a TOTALLY different matter....
At least one WELS congregation was having Liturgical Dancing a number of years ago. They called it Messianic Dance.
Liturgical Dance was also offered to teens at St Marcus in Milwaukee. Wasn't there some liturgical dancing at one of the evening services at one of the Worship Conferences?

How well is the CORE doing with this philosophy? Are they growing exponentially?
That film with the puppets and the dancers was just so bad I couldn't watch it fully. Nothing worse than when a bunch of Beorgeois try to act bohemian. Did you hear the bongo drums? How many faux-bohemian stereotypes can these wackos cram into one bad stage act? Bad taste has no greater ally than upper-middle class folks with too much time on their hands. They should all be sentenced to five years of honest labor like digging ditches.

As I'm watching the dancing/puppet video my 6 year old daughter looks over my shoulder:
"What are they doing?"
Me: "They're being silly in church"
Daughter: "They shouldn't be doing that." "Do they believe in Jesus?"
Me: "I don't know"
Daughter: "If they believed in Jesus they wouldn't do that."
She scampered off to play and had the misfortune of coming back while the black lady was speaking her nonsense about healing lepers of their social diseases: "A woman pastor?"
Me: "I know sweety. Sometimes people do really weird things in church."
