He is on the board and losing his job in Phoenix.
Randy Hunter is another candidate for running WLC's cell groups.
The students and faculty are already WELS members--not necessarily Lutheran, if you get my drift. Boss man wants to treat the campus like his own church. Like Wayne Mueller, the more people hired, the better for lobbying.
Jeff Gunn's stealth sect is not going to be accepted by his own district, so he is looking for a new soapbox.
The issue is not whether students live there in dorms. I love the way some people turn a doctrinal discussion into something else. Clearly the school wants to build a base of unionistic Pietism while asking Lutherans to study and work there.
There are plenty of fine Pietistic schools around Milwaukee. Why build up another one in the stealth mode?

In other news, my post about Mark and Avoid Jeske was prescient. Stay tuned.

Lutheran theologians head ecumenical drive to reunite Protestants and Catholics. Call it mega-poping.
It used to be that Protestants were small compared to the Catholic Church, but now there are perhaps 500 million Protestants compared to 1.4 billion Catholics. In other words, in time Protestants will outnumber Catholics. Then maybe the Catholics will seek to join the Protestants instead of the other way around--as it is now:

Why would you want to pay the incredible tuition cost at a private liberal arts college like WLC? You can get an arguable better education at a state funded university without the more dangerous effect of doctrinal laxity and unionism and over and against out and out liberalism that you can see and easily defend against. Much of the liberalism of tomorrow is brewed in the misdirected efforts of conservatives today that turn a blind eye to doctrinally difficult positions of confessional Lutheranism and embrace the nuveau trends.
My daughter is almost old enough to go to one of the prep schools. We always thought she would go to WLC. Now, not so much. I don't know if we would want her exposed to all this crap. Maybe a public school and a state college will suffice. This stuff makes my head spin. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck....... You know the rest!
