UOJ Law Salesmen Work over Rolf Preus.
Paul McCain Puts His Foot in It Again

Rolf Preus has applied to return to the LCMS. That is not uncommon. His fellow UOJ advocates have not been full of love and forgiveness.

Paul McCain on SpenerQuest, a haven and supermarket for UOJ:

Rolf, there has been a public notice informing The LCMS of your desire to rejoin the Synod. I think you should be willing to indicate, publicly, why you want to return, particularly in light of a rather lengthy history of very caustic comments about The LCMS.

Are you now willing to retract and apologize for your previous remarks?

Your reticence to discuss this is troubling to me.

Tim Blank:
Pastor Preus has said repeatedly that the LCMS is heterodox according to the definition of Franz Pieper. Considering that Franz Pieper was the chief architect of the Brief Statement, it is interesting to me that Pastor Preus wishes to subscribe himself to this statement of faith while at the same time redefining its original meaning concerning church fellowship.

Paul McCaint:
Actually, to be fair to Rolf, I think he has said that he has determined there is no orthodox Lutheran church body in the USA, so...I guess he wants to rejoin The LCMS, since he found out he can't do any better, or worse, elsewhere.

Tim Rake responded:
Actually, what is most troubling is your public goading of Rolf, McCain, especially in view of your position w CPH and your own very undistinguished online reputation. Shut up and let the matter be.

Jungkuntz taught UOJ in WELS, went to the LCMS
as a seminary professor and board of doctrine head.
He chaired the board of Seminex, the first gay Lutheran seminary in America.

Perhaps Rolf wanted to join the LCMC. It's only one letter difference. Easy mistake to make. :)

With McCain being hyper-critical of everything and everyone, it's hard to believe he'd ever criticize someone for being critical! If McCain never criticizes the LCMS, then he's just a partisan that shouldn't be listened to--like Reagan was a partisan in that regard.

BTW, Reagan's running $400 billion deficits for eight years, and his Republican successors doing the same, gave the US most of the debt we have today:

GJ - Both Rolf and McCain are UOJ Stormtroopers. Rolf has served congregations ever since his ordination. McCain served one parish for about two years, acting as Al Barry's campaign manager and back-door contact with Herman Otten.

As I recall, Rolf also got an additional master's degree from seminary, but McCain did not (in spite of hanging around the seminary an extra two years).

At first I though SP Harrison felt sorry for McCain. I finally realized that McCain was Harrison's covert op, Waldo Werning's doppleganger.

Pastor Greg,

The quality of this picture is very good, I like it. McCain is a Jedi Knight of the LC-MS and the caption suits well.

Six times bigger...six times better and six times worse...someone told me that about Missouri vs. WELS...I believe the jury is still out...

Missouri is big enough to allow various parties. WELS has them, too, but the KGB stomps and silences anyone suspected of thought-crimes. "Someone in WELS might have been wrong once? What's that humming sound?" ZOT! He is gone.

Ditto - Little Sect on the Prairie, which long ago had the spine to stand up to Missouri.

Otten has a new book on marriage with a foreword by Rolf Preus's wife:

McCain is acting as a gatekeeper for the LCMS. Make that, for Harrison. He let his Romish sympathies show when he fawned all over Father Richard John Neuhaus postmortem. The fact that in rejecting Justification by Faith Alone Neuhaus cursed Christ didn't keep McCain from saying, "I felt Richard John brought to the Romanism he embraced a hearty and full measure of the joyful Gospel rediscovery of Martin Luther, for which I am grateful."

Really?! A full measure of the Gospel? RCC's official doctrine states that if anyone thinks they are justified by faith in Christ alone they are damned to Hell. If anyone doesn't accept the Pope as Christ on earth they are damned to Hell. That's the RCC gospel.

McCain continues, "He [Neuhaus] opened several doors for me while I served The LCMS President, making it possible for LCMS leadership to make direct contact with the Vatican, when ELCA leaders were intent on cutting us out of formal conversation with Rome. Father Neuhaus was able to make direct personal appeal to Pope John Paul which led to direct contacts with Cardinal Ratzinger, with the result that the The LCMS was again given a place at the table of discussion and dialog with Rome, and most importantly, a point sadly lost on some,..."

Acey, I have a post on how that developed, many decades ago.

The mantra of "Change!" was chanted in 1971, but my source (California) says it began earlier with some enabling efforts.
