Too Often Men Go It Alone. Some Would Rather Fail Than Admit They Don’t Have It All Together Or Have All The Answers. In Truth, We Need Each Other Like A Band Of Brothers  Gathering Men Around God’s Word?  What Can We Do To Foster A Band Of Support And Encouragement For Men? We’ll Hear Ideas From Other Men’s Ministries, Share Our Own Questions, And Share God’s Encouragement As We Explore How We Might Start And Sustain A Men’s Ministry “A Band Of Brothers “At Our Home Congregations.


2: Session Title:  Breakfast Of Champions

Presenter: Jeff Gunn

The Statement, “Feedback Is The Breakfast Of Champions,” Is Valid, But Men Need More Than Just Ordinary Feedback.  We Need Honest, Forthright Feedback From Those Whom We Know Love Us, Trust Us, And Want To See Us Be Strong And Successful.  That Unique Combination Of “Speaking The Truth In Love” (Eph 4:15-16) Is What God Says Is The “Breakfast Of Champions,” The Thing That Will Help Us Grow Up Into Christ.  In This Session, Jeff Gunn Will Dialogue With The Participants On The Importance Of Accountability Partners And “Battle Buddies” In Our Christian Walk.  In This Practical Session, We’ll Explore The Why’s And The How’s Of Creating A Team Of “Mighty Men”—As King David Did—Men Who Can Support Us And Direct Us.


3: Session Title: And Who Is My Brother?

We May Think Our Brother Is From Our Family Or Our Church Or Our Neighborhood, But Maybe Our Lord Wants Us To Raise Our Eyes A Little Further.  Maybe He Wants Us To See That Our Brother Could Be The Person We Don’t Care Too Much About, The Person Who Lives In A Way That Offends Us, Or The Person Whose Culture We Don’t Understand.  How Can We Find Ways And Opportunities To Show These Brothers That We Are Their Keepers?

Why Do Secular Ventures Often Prosper While The Efforts Of The Church Stumble Around Without Progress? Why Do Businesses And Political Movements Find Success In Spite Of Their Wrong Motives And Immoral Approaches, But Our Christian Congregations With Good Motives And Actions Fail? Jesus Has The Answer For Us In Luke 16:8,9.  Although The Scriptures Often Tell Us To Avoid Worldliness, There Is One Aspect Of This World’s Approach To Success That We Should Follow.

This Session Is Designed To Help You Recognize Wolves, Understand What Drives Their Hunger, And Learn How To Keep Them From Forming A “Pack” At Your Work Or Church.  These Wolves, Sometimes Known As “Clergy Killers,” Have An Underlying Agenda To Discredit And Take Down A Leader.  They Always Claim The Best Intentions, But Build Coalitions Against The Leader Behind His Back.   Therefore, Having Authentic Christian Brothers Around You Is Even More Critical Today Than Ever Before.  Learn To Protect Yourself And Your Brothers. The Kingdom Of God Is At Stake. 

 


9: Session Title: Making The Change From “New Member” To New Brother

Reaching Out To Bring People Into The Church Is Important, But What Can We Do To Keep New Members From Walking In The Front Door And Out The Back?   We Will Explore A Practical And Common Sense Approach To Making New Members Feel Like The Brothers And Sisters In Christ That They Are.


10: Session Title: Brothers That Step Up: “Here Am I Send Me”.

This Session Will Bring You Firsthand Examples Of WELS Boots- On-The-Ground Efforts In Humanitarian Aid/Disaster Relief Around The World.  In Addition, You Will Learn How These Efforts Build Bridges To The Gospel.  So Join Us To Rejoice In The Fruits Of This Work And Reap The Benefits Of Getting Involved.


11: Session Title: Porn, Pride, And Proverbs

 Presenter: Mike Novotny

 Everyday Bible-Reading, Church-Attending, Passage-Memorizing Christians Battle A Temptation They’ve Never Told Anyone About:  Pornography.  Although They Know It Would Be Better To “Gouge Out Their Eye” Than To Lust After Another Image, They Still End Up In The Same Familiar Places Doing The Same Familiar Things.  “Porn, Pride, And Proverbs” Is An Honest Look At Pornography In Our Culture And Its Effect On Christian Men.  God’s “Book Of Wisdom” Will Guide Sexual Addicts, The Struggling, And The Strong Alike To Biblical And Practical Answers For This Growing Issue Among Us.

We All Have Suffered Loss Or Have Loved Ones Hurting Because Of Loss. It May Have Been The Loss Of A Parent, Spouse, Child Or Friend To Death Or Divorce, The Loss Of A Job, A Financial Setback Or Health Issues. This Session Will Provide Insight In The Following Areas:  How Do We Deal With Loss? Who Do We Turn To For Guidance And Support? How Can We Be Our Brother’s Keeper During Times Of Loss?

 Backpacking Takes A Certain Skill Set. In The Wilderness You Must Be Able To Find Your Path, Protect Yourself And Others, And Provide For Bodily Needs. Any Errors Can Have Disastrous Consequences; Yet Your Skill, When Applied Correctly, Can Create Great Confidence. Likewise, Moving From Boyhood To Manhood Requires A Skill Set. This Session Aims To Equip Young Men With The Tools To Successfully Navigate The Terrain That Leads To Manhood.
