WELS Wastes Another Bundle on Church and Changers

For sale - cheap.
This sect is growing so fast that it needs two headquarters at once.
Hochmuth Hall:
In its May 1 teleconference, the Board for Home Missions Executive Committee authorized $417,000 in funding for nine mission opportunities, starting July 1, 2012.

"While this authorization stretches the Home Mission operating budget, special gifts to Home Missions will assist in financing these ministry opportunities," says Rev. Keith Free, administrator of the Board for Home Missions.

Two of these ministries are mission starts in Lafayette, Ind., and Laramie, Wyo. Neighboring pastors already have gathered core groups and started worship services. Funding will provide for full-time pastors to work with the core groups to reach out in these communities.

The remaining seven are enhancements for ministry in mission-minded congregations:

Faith Hmong, Anchorage, Alaska. Rev. Pao Moua has been serving as a tent minister while reaching out to the Hmong since 2009. This will allow Moua to serve his congregation of 85 souls full time.

Crown of Life, Corona, Calif. Crown of Life, which has had 50 adult confirmands in the last two years, is adding a third site and needs a second pastor to meet ministry opportunities. Favorite theologian to study - Leonard Sweet. Pastor Rick is an ardent Church and Changer.

Christ the Lord, Houston, Texas. Christ the Lord is starting outreach and educational ministry in nearby Sienna Plantation. The congregation needs a bilingual Spanish-speaking pastor to continue reaching out to Hispanics at its original site.

Peace, Boulder, Colo. Rev. Jesse Stern has been serving both Peace and Rocky Mountain Lutheran High School in nearby Denver. This will allow him to serve Peace full time.

Bethany, Appleton, Wis. Bethany is expanding its childcare ministry and facility at a second site with the goal of starting a new congregation. It needs a third pastor to reach out to unchurched families and prospects at the second site. Bethany plagiarized Church Swindoll for the "pastor's meditation". The link is here.

Grace, Yakima, Wash. Located in a neighborhood that is now 90 percent Hispanic, Grace needs a bilingual Spanish-speaking pastor to further Hispanic outreach in this changing community.

Shepherd of the Lakes, Fairmont, Minn. Funding will help the congregation fully support Rev. Timothy Wahl, who had been serving as a tent minister since 2010 at a mission start in Milford, Iowa.

"It’s been exciting for the Board for Home Missions Church and Change Executive Committee to see the commitment of Jeske mission-minded congregations to share the gospel of Jesus Christ," says Free. "We’re thankful we can support them in these new ministry endeavors with your offering dollars."
