What Church and Change Offers WELS
And Lutherdom

As I recall, the Conference of Pussycats suggested Stetzer not be invited for the Church and Chicanery conference because that would "marginalize the group" and its contributions. How sweet and dainty, to fear the loss of influence of this secretive sect.

Here is my list of contributions from Church and Chicanery:

  1. They have taught WELS pastors how to plagiarize the worst of the false teachers, shamelessly. They even claim the sermons of others as their own and post them on their websites.
  2. St. Mark Depere (Kelm, Parlow) and Trapp's congregation have shown how Wisconsin Synod congregations can join the Willow Creek Association without being disciplined.
  3. No one needs to ask who the cutting edge Shrinkers are, because the Chicaneries book them as keynote speakers: Leonard Sweet, Ed Stetzer, etc.
  4. District officials/VP candidates like Kudu Don Patterson and Jim Huebner are excellent examples of studying with false teachers and still being taken seriously.
  5. Chicaneries are the vanguard of the women's ordination movement, with full-time women staffers in all their tiny little fake missions.
  6. Their technology is awesome. As soon as they are caught at something, they notify one another and hide the evidence.
  7. They have mastered the art of deception, so well in fact - they deceive themselves.
  8. They maintain friendly relations with all denominations, including the Roman Catholics, not only "spoiling the Egyptians" but leaving a lot of WELS spoil behind.
  9. They have not only adopted prayer as a Means of Grace, but also love, relationships, rock music, snacks during church, and enormous, undeserved grants.
  10. They are well read in the every confession, except for the Lutheran Confessions.
  11. They have led the way in eliminating Lutheran from all their projects - the magazine, WELS Lutherans for Life, the hymnal, and all their missions.
  12. They have turned "Teach all nations and baptize in the Name of the Trinity" into making disciples, turning the Means of Grace into a Pietistic law.
