Guess Where Zehms Landed? St. Marcus - Where Else?

George Skestos started Lutheran (sic) Parish Resources in Columbus, Ohio, so his buddy Floyd Luther Stolzenburg could play at being a pastor - immediately after being forced out of the LCMS ministry. Columbus did not want Floyd, so they hired another divorced pastor, Roger Zehms. Skestos doubled down and paid for Floyd, giving Columbus two Church Growth fanatics.

Roger Zehms is no longer in Texas, rubbing shoulders with Kudu Don Patterson. Zehms was chair of the District Mission Board for a time. Now he is a member of St. Marcus (Jeske) in Milwaukee. Zehms is doing jail ministry, which is a good way to meet old CG friends who are serving their time.

Zehms' favorite professor was Jungkuntz, the father of all heretics in WELS.

Jungkuntz: My NWC boys have done well in the Wisconsin Synod.

Another tree that bears no fruit. What to do with it?

I appreciate your expose on WELS unionism, but I already agree with your analysis and interpretation of facts. My questions remain:

Which Synod, the LCMS or the WELS is technically correct regarding fellowship etc.? Is a Synod a logistical necessity instituted by man, or is a manifestation of the divinely instituted Church? Is the Divine Call only for Pastors (as the LCMS maintains) or is is also applicable to teachers and music directors and others? (As the the WELS believes) Is it wrong to worship, Commune and pray with Christians of divergent views or is it wrong only to worship and Commune with them?

Without considering Lutheran History--look solely at the Scriptures, this is what I find: There is warning and admonition for Christians who tolerate error--and no talk of the political and procedural fellowship regarding individual churches. I find nothing in the New Testament that justifies the parliamentary method of dealing with doctrinal errors that is the MO of the WELS and LCMS. That is to say, Fellowship seems to be something specific to the internals of a single church/congregation. I think if Paul wanted to he would've said it plainly: "If you hear of a church 500 miles away that persistently teaches falsehood, make sure that you are officially separated from them--do not share acronyms with those who are lax! Likewise, if God wanted to institute the concept "Synod" as the seriously WELS takes it I believe it too would be plainly laid out in the New Testament. There are some indications that the Apostles were in some way Officials in charge of multiple churches, but it by no means instituted. The way the WELS approaches "Synod as Church" an casual observer would assume that Church Hierarchical structure was laid out in Scripture. ("And there shalt be appointed and anointed DPs and SPs and 1st and 2nd VSPs. And thou shalt appoint Circuits and within those Circuits shalt be Winkles. And a chain of command shalt be followed.) That's what I see from the Bible, but I'm a layman so I'd like to hear a theologians answer those questions

Thanks
