GJ - Many glib Lutherans talk about Calvin at the PowerPoint level - at least the parts they remember. We need to understand the movement from Calvin to Pietism to UOJ in order to comprehend the debacle of forgiveness without faith. Knowing about Calvinism is a good start.
My advisor at Notre Dame, Tjaard Hommes, was a Dutch Remonstrant (Arminian). His favorite theologian was Paul Tillich.
