Leaving the Gay Lifestyle for God's Grace. On Sunday October 4th, @ 6:00pm, a fellow WELS member named Scott Barefoot will be visiting our congregation to discuss his struggle to overcome homosexuality and his efforts to help others who are struggling either personally, as a friend, or a family member of someone who is struggling. Scott is a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Falls Church, Virginia and has written about this: “My Cross to Bear”, and “Desperate for God” in the WELS magazine Forward in Christ, January 2008 & May 2010 issues; as well as, co-authoring the book: "Forgive Us Our Sins - Homosexuality In The Light Of God's Truth". Over the past several years, he has traveled extensively, sharing his story with many WELS & ELS congregations, pastors’ conferences, high schools, colleges, and seminaries.  Scott will share his personal perspective on this timely topic as well as God’s word and some commonly quoted scripture passages that defenders of homosexuality tend to try and twist to their will. At the end of his presentation there will be a question and answer period for the group as well.  This is a unique opportunity to receive a powerful perspective on a topic that is in the headlines daily. You are all invited to come and bring those who you feel might benefit from this information. You may also find more information about Scott and the work he does at his organization’s website https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ME_jobj9RA
