How To Become a Church Growth Guru in WELS and the ELS

The 19th century Shrinker Henry Ward Beecher
counseled many women at his church
and at their homes.

Here is the link for a most unpleasant story. Parental controls are recommended. The article says, "It's a felony." An Assemblies of God church let this particular felon use its building for "counseling."

WELS said, "We need that kind of guy as a Church Growth consultant!"

WELS said, "He must be returned to the pastorate to prey upon the flock."

The ELS said, "We need him to fund Thoughts of Faith."

And all the clergy and officials fell down before the Golden Calf and said, "Amen!"

Pastor GJ! This is a Christian Blog. Am I going to have to turn on the Parental Controls? In the doctor's case it was a crime. Unfortunately, in the case of a pastor, it isn't criminal, just a very big sin.

When will the National Enquirer investigate Church Growth and the misuse of God?

One of the little problems that we have in the ELS is the persistence of right-wing politics. Strangely enough there is still some confusion in the ELS, and elsewhere, about the Doctrine of the Two Kingdoms.

The ELS faith community is currently feeling the effects of this confusion. An ELS pastor's son has been arrested for involvement in the break-in of the Louisiana's Congresswoman's office. This occurred some two or three weeks ago.

This unfortunate 24-year old man was caught up in the politics of the right wing. Carried to extremes, adherence to right wing political ideology results in a disregard the Rule of Law.

I do not want to indict my own synod, the ELS, or the pastor, whom I know well. There is no occasion for blame here but there is cause for repentance. I do want to state that the pernicious effects of right-wing politics have now come very close to my faith community and I feel great sorrow.

Norman's comment reminds me of G. Gordon Liddy! Extreme right-wing politics invites the likes of the John Birch Society. If I ever moved to Appleton, I would clean the Core for free before I would answer phones at the JBS.(Liddy is in the JBS)

We are not to hurt our neighbor's property. God is not a registerd democrat or republican.
