We May Have an Addition to the Icha-Slang Lexicon:
Methobapticostal

Positive feedback is always welcome.

Narrow-minded Lutheran has left a new comment on your post "Invocabit - The First Sunday in Lent":

Great message. Pietism is a sore point of mine, and you addressed it well. When Paul says, "And that from a child thou hast known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus" (2 Tim 3:15), I would conclude that Christianity is more of an objective "head" religion than a subjective "heart" religion. Pietists use other Scripture passages to shoot down wisdom, but those passages address worldly wisdom.

Relying on our own sin-tainted reason, emotions, and experiences will ultimately cause us to question our faith. If I'm not quite "feeling it" today, does that invalidate God's Means of Grace? No, but if a Methobapticostal isn't "feeling it in the experience," he/she is in big trouble. Christ's Word, Water, and His precious Body and Blood do infinitely more than quaking and shaking.
