Pastor Sutton graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 1979 and has served at Shepherd of the Hills - Lansing, MI / Hope - Portland, MI and St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Watertown, WI. He began his ministry here at St. Paul's in 1998. Additionally he serves as the first vice president of the Minnesota District and on Grace in Action's Ministry Leader Institute Board of Directors - a cancer node from Jeske, Inc. In his spare time he enjoys reading and outdoor activities. He and his wife Joanne have been blessed with five children.
Pastor Timothy Smith received his Master in Divinty in 1999. He began his ministry as a missionary in King County in the state of Washington. In 2001 he accepted a call to St. Paul's here in New Ulm. In his spare time he enjoys researching history, literature, studying para-biblical languages, and spending time with his family. He and his wife Kathryn have been blessed with four children.

Pastor David Bendix grew up near Redwood Falls, MN and attended Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School and Martin Luther College in New Ulm. In 2005 he graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and was assigned to Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Fairmont, MN as well as the mission in Milford, IA. In 2013 he accepted the call to St. Paul's here in New Ulm. Additionally he serves as the chairman for the Minnesota River Valley Conference and the chairman of the Ministry of Christian Giving for the Minnesota District. In his spare time he likes to be on the lake either fishing, skiing or just relaxing. He and his wife Jennifer have been blessed with two children.

New Ulm pastor caught in prostitution sting

NEW ULM — A pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm is one of 13 men caught in a prostitution sting.
David Carl Bendix, 36, has resigned, according to a story in the New Ulm Journal.
The newspaper reported Bendix is taking responsibility for what he called a "grave error in judgment."He told the Journal: "On Friday, in a moment of monumental weakness, I clicked on an (Internet) ad that I shouldn't have. I followed up on it and agreed to meet someone at the Microtel, and was arrested."Police also released on Thursday night the names of the 12 other men caught in the sting, most of whom live in south-central Minnesota.

Charges filed in prostitution sting

NEW ULM - New Ulm police have released the names of the 13 men who have been charged with soliciting prostitution in a sting conducted July 10 in New Ulm and July 12 in St. Peter.
The list includes David Carl Bendix, 36, of New Ulm, who was a pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm at the time of his arrest on Friday. Bendix resigned from the church on Friday following his arrest. In an interview with The Journal this week he expressed his remorse for the pain he has caused his family and his congregation (see accompanying story).
The charge filed against the men is Prostitution-Patron-Hires, Offers, or Agrees to Hire to Engage in Prostitution in Public Place. The charge is a gross misdemeanor and carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.
Another New Ulm man, Keith Allen Eckstein, 52, was among those charged. A Sleepy Eye man, Steve Ross Kramer, 52, was also charged.
The others charged in Brown County and Nicollet County courts are:
Troy Everett Steece, age 43 of LeCenter; Ruben Jamie Ibarra, age 23 of Mankato; Todd Angelo Phelps, age 30 of Mission, Texas; Jaleen Jaleel Sims, age 20 of Mankato; Roland Ervin Hukriede Jr., age 41 Madison Lake; Tyler Lee Bolduan, age 24 of Owatonna; James Albert Bradley Brezina, age 41 Mankato; Daniel Edward Rosfjord, age 26 of Eagle Lake; Jason Allen Hubbard, age 36 of Mankato; Shawn Michael Postier, age 39 of Rochester.
