Dave Kehl is no longer employed at The Love Shack. I heard he was going to Atonement. He was recently listed as having the new Adult/Youth discipleship call, so I am confused. Corrections are welcome.
Kehl was connected with the expensive Airport meeting, an orgy of Shrinker ideology. I wanted to back up my facts, as I always do, but that link on the WELS.net site is gone.
This just in...
The WELS AnswerMan is being replaced. That was my favorite springboard before WELS elected SP Schroeder and ruined the fun. AnswerMan was known for ridiculous responses and bad spelling.
Some DPs wanted AnswerMan banished earlier, but the State of Wisconsin DPs wanted the feature kept. You are wondering why, so I will tell you. AnswerMan favored the Shrinkers, so the Big Three liked having a backdoor response that countered sound Lutheran doctrine and practice.
AnswerMan came across as official WELS doctrine, so a Shrinker pastor could whip out the favorable responses and say, "Holy Mother WELS has spoken. Nyahh."
My intuition is that Father Hollywood's Girls Gone Wild column was the last straw.
One Shrinker is endlessly offended that Father Hollywood alluded to Monty Python, although the Shrinker seems to know his Python much better than most people. But the same person was not offended by women pretending to be pastors. Father Hollywood was appalled by the lame excuses posted by AnswerMan.
As the golden sun sinks slowly into White Fish Bay, we bid a fond adieu to AnswerMan, source of mirth and befuddlement.

Palace intrigue at the Love Shack continues unabated. The AnswerMan never could reign (sic) it in with his official WELS doctrine.

According to the latest call report, Dave Kehl accepted the call to Atonement and returned the call to serve as Adult/Youth Discipleship coordinator.

GJ - Kehl was deep into the Shrinker agenda. I will not quote another source, who said...
Not gonna do it.

WELS Q&A was a kick in the crotch to Lutheran Confessionalism. It lasted so long because the majority of WELS laity lack a modicum of Christian discernment which comes through the Holy Spirit's faith. UOJ destroys the Holy Spirit's faith worked and strengthened in us through Word and Sacrament alone. UOJ supplants the Holy Spirit's faith with a withered outstretched hand which does nothing but receive what was already declared to be true when Christ died on the cross. The Confessions confirm that true Christian faith makes of an unjust man a just man, justifying and saving him instantaneously and not as a process of justification which UOJ teaches.
There's plenty of garbage left for WELSians to pick through. An example is the South Central District essays posted on the web.
Consensus Building, April 18th 2005 by WELS Pastor Christopher Goelzer
http://www.welssc.org/Essays/2005-04%20Goelzer.pdf
"It is my goal that in presenting the principles of consensus building as our society is developing them, we as the spiritual leaders of God's people might glean wisdom to apply to our ministry and church organizations."
"It may seem silly at first but don't we also believe and teach in the wisdom of the group in the Christian church?" Page 9, first paragraph
"As spiritual leaders we know and understand the stalemate and the joyride of blindly following the ant in front of you. Serving a church that has stagnated, unable to move beyond what they have already experienced can be excruciatingly painful, not to mention derelict in its duty to carry the Gospel to its community." Page 9, fifth paragraph
"the skills that are required for building consensus are great tools for us in order to communicate the Word of God clearly and make the gospel of our Lord more attractive." Page 10, third paragraph
"The Gospel doesn't look good" to an unbeliever until someone explains it. The Gospel is foolishness until the Holy Spirit grants understanding. Obviously Paul was not encouraging Titus or slaves to tell people what their itching ears wanted to hear. Rather, Paul was echoing one of his favorite themes: watch your life and your doctrine. When we do that, we make the message of God our Savior sound and look beautiful." Page 12, second paragraph
Now someone will tell me what a conservative and confessional WELS district this is - just like MLC.
In Christ,
Brett Meyer
