My son is in the Fort Wayne "sausage factory". This whole thing is upsetting to his mother. Our son is following in the footsteps of his LCMS grandfather and great-grandfather. (Plus, he thinks he's going to change things within the LCMS....) Dad (me) is a "Lutheran in Exile" and refuses to take part in "The Lutheran Church(s) - Thrivent Synod" and is in an "unapproved" seminary. (Unapproved among the family, that is....) Needless to say, with ELCA and LCMS pastors on both sides of the family, our Christmas gatherings can be very....tension filled.

I heard that Fort Wayne's LCMS sem was unable to place over 30 grads last year.
