He opened a can on you guys. The only way a WELS DP is going to be voted out is if he is found in bed with a live boy or a dead girl. Otherwise, he is re-elected for life. We rule while you stew.
So you seem to admit being ELS...not sure about your called worker status...
I agree with your satire that SOME called workers and ALL lay people are indoctrinated to be timid. In the WELS, which tends to be very cliquish, it is easy for anyone who holds a different or dissenting opinion to be ostracized. Since the ELS is even smaller (and cliquer ? Is that a word? Dr. Ichabod?) I assume you have experienced this first hand.
It wasn't a joke. Seriously, there are people and clergy in the Lutheran Synods who do not care if souls are dying because of the false doctrine and practice that is condoned, promoted, accepted and defended just as there are those who defend and finance the murder of innocent babies, whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
The upshot is that Jeske will continue to do what he does.
What Jeske does with Time of Grace cannot be called outreach by any stretch of the imagination.
Outreach would include clear and direct instructions to viewers/listeners about how to get further information from a WELS pastor/congregation in their area.
Oh, wait a minute! Any outreach for WELS might offend The LC-MS, and jeopardize Jeske's relationship with them.
My group loves Mark Jeske because he embodies everything we stand for. Let's face it. He is in two denominations at once. Some of you are not even in two counties at once. The key is being as non-offensive as possible. Do not stick out your neck - it only gets chopped off. I look at the various seminaries and know we will have more Jeske types in the future.
The Timid Lutheran is spot on. Wisconsinites are all impressed by Jeske's successes, and cloud their vision to look closer at his teachings.
I attended the conference monday. WLC's spotlight was a laughable video detailing everything they do except their Lutheran heritage and 'Lutheran' teaching.

What about a dead boy or a live girl? That's ok then?
Timid Lutheran, I assume you are WELS and a called worker (minister)?
When in prep school I always thought the WELS had a "Good Old Boy" network that was dominated by several families.
The girl has to be dead or he is re-elected. The boy - either way, the DP is toast.
My name is Legion, because we are many. We are in all synods. We are especially dense in the ELS.
The Timid Lutherans run the show. The rest of you pay.
Ah, I get it...I think....

I'm an ELS guy and the joke has gone way over my head.
I get the part about church guys being re-elected for life. Maybe this year it will be different in the little Norwegian Synod.
