Comparing Traditional Bible Translations

In Biblical translations, the Protestants drove off the road after WWII. Most of them were associated with the Left-wing National Council of Churches, earlier called the Federal Council of Churches. The FCC was so Communist that scandals erupted and they changed their name, ending the scandals.

The NCC sponsored the Revised Standard Version, which was hyped as much as the NIV later, especially since every denomination got behind it, sooner or later. Before the RSV, the KJV reigned supreme. Some Protestant became suspicious when the RSV experts decided the Virgin Birth prophecy in Isaiah 7 only predicted a young woman would bear a child, forgetting the phrase  God with us - Emmanuel. Let's face it, the RSV was a Bible from liberals and for liberals, clearly intended the break the grip of the King James.

All modern translations follow the dynamic equivalence nonsense from that heresiarch who put his stamp on all the Biblical societies - Eugene Nida. That theory gave everyone a license to make the Bible text say anything they wanted it to say. The New NIV is an example of delivering exactly what the mainline apostates and Church Growth apostates demand to hear - all are justified in Romans 3:24, even though the all is missing from all Greek texts.

The modernists were already getting three examples of this phrasing wrong, which the KJV has precisely as written in Greek -

Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: (not in, but of, see Galatians and Philippians)

Like the Virgin Birth omission, this addition of all has to be a new low in prostituting Biblical translation to the demands of the market place. Another example is Willowcreek only buying Bible that are feminist, which will certainly lead to pan-sexual Bibles. Like Marble Collegiate Church in NYC, the gulf between the founders and the present demons occupying what others labored for - is impossible to describe completely.

Lizard Hands - Murdoch owned your NIV Bible,
though I heard he sold it.

Although SP Mark Schroeder inkled that he hated the New NIV, that monstrosity from Lizard Hands has become the official WELS translation. Mequon won that round, which was one more eructation from the unified Church Growth UOJ faculty.

Where Are the Lutheran Groups?
WELS jumped 100% into the New NIV, which is appropriate for Pietists in the last stage of the Great Apostasy.

The Little Sect on the Prairie (ELS) seems to like the New KJV, as do the CLC (sic) and ELDONUTs. However, ELDONA also likes the Calvinist ESV (the RSV edited by a Calvinist), which is also a tendency in the LCMS.

ELDONA does not like the KJV21 or the Third Millennium Bible. One layman donated a number of both. Nobody thanked him or acknowledged the Bibles. He does not even know what happened to them. That suggests that the Right Reverend Bishop James Rodham Heiser pressed the shun button on the entire KJV family - except the Babtist New KJV. Do not search for logic in all this - I am only reporting what I know.

Comparing the KJV21 and Third Millennium
I look at the sacramental passages, which the modernist ones - including the New KJV - fail miserably. It is not only a matter of imposing their anti-sacramental views, which reveal opposition to the efficacy of the Word, the work of the Holy Spirit exclusively through the Word. Their failure to translate properly comes from slapping words into a text that were never there.

I am going to list key passages - KJV, KJV21, and TMB. Forget the New KJV, which I have shown before to be Babtist. The luv of the New KJV among the micro-mini-sects suggests they are Justification-by-Faith starved, just like WELS. If you want to find those blokes getting an education, it is always at a Babtist conference or college, Baylor included.

TMB

1 Peter 3:21King James Version (KJV)

1 Peter 3:2121st Century King James Version (KJ21)

21 The like figure to this, even baptism, doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
TMB
...baptism, doth also now save us

Conclusion So Far
I use the KJV all the time, so I do not read the KJV21 or TMB often. They are synoptic in agreeing with the KJV, which is the intention. I see only minor, inconsequential differences in these comparisons.

EC President Oren Paris III and Shelton face 13 wire fraud counts instead of 10.
Charges added against former Arkansas lawmaker in bribery case.

The defendants each face up to 20 years in prison, plus fines and forfeiture of any money or property acquired.

Charges added against former Arkansas lawmaker in bribery case:

"Former Republican Sen. Jon Woods is accused of accepting bribes from Ecclesia College President Oren Paris III in return for state grants to the college, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported. Randell Shelton Jr. is accused of passing the bribes to Woods through his consulting firm in return for a share.

The amended indictment shows Woods faces 15 counts of wires fraud, instead of 12. Paris and Shelton face 13 wire fraud counts instead of 10. All three also face one count of mail fraud.

The defendants each face up to 20 years in prison, plus fines and forfeiture of any money or property acquired. They are scheduled to be tried together in May.

Woods and Paris were released on a $10,000 bond, and Shelton was released on a $5,000 bond.

The amended indictment also names former Republican Rep. Micah Neal, who allegedly helped Woods direct the state General Improvement Fund money to Ecclesia College in 2013 and 2014."

Henderson did not know he was on the Ecclesia Board of Regents.
This so-called board never met, and Pat Boone could
not remember the college or being asked.

Progress of Luther's Sermons

Volume 1 of Luther's Sermons is having a final look, because extra readers really help. Norma Boeckler is already working on the art.

Volume 2 already has one reading, which I will edit for the typo repairs.

Other volumes are being worked on or finished for their first proofing.

My extra job the last two months has been dealing with all the appointments for cancer diagnosis and treatment. Any doctor's appointment is good for 1/2 day's time and energy - hurry-up and wait. And there were a lot of appointments. But that has been worthwhile and also had far better results than anyone imagined.

I expect to have four or more of the eight volumes done this year, then some additional Luther's works - the Catechisms, for example - following.

  • Some anticipated new works are:
  • The Lutheran Dictionary.
  • Two Felons and One Christian Leader: Stephan, Walther, and Loehe.
  • The Parable of Growth.

Readers should be getting their copies of The Lost Dutchman's Goldmne.
Let me know if you have not.

Rain, Rain, Stay a Day - The Creation Gardening Is Bursting with Life

Sweetheart Calladiums came from Florida Calladiums

Yesterday I planted the Calladiums that came in the mail. Almost every one was a triple, so they will put on a great display, with color matching the big Crepe Myrtle.

One bloom of the Crepe Myrtle displayed its color close-up.

The lower half of the Crepe Myrtle was pruned
after the first bloom, which lasts a long time.
The upper half housed the Cardinal nest.
No one else prunes the first bloom, which gives color into late fall.

The new Crepe Myrtle twigs finally leafed out and began growing like weeds. Two are almost waist-high now.

The Mr. Lincoln roses popped new leaves four days after planting. I watered the new roses and Calladiums to give the little bulbs a start and the rose canes some extra moisture.

Nothing brings on rain like watering and visiting Walmart. By the time I was going to Walmart for medicine we had an afternoon of rain (scattered showers?) building up to a cloudburst when I went into the store and departed. Unlike the customers who bent their heads to avoid the rain - does that work? - I went in happy to have all the plants watered and fertilized.

The rain washes pollen out of the air, which was already coating cars like golden powder. I would not dismiss the added benefit of tree contributions to the soil. The pollen, leaves, and seeds add tons of organic matter, if only people would notice.

Almost Eden and I covet pine needles, so they are in short supply on our block.

I never know what a surprise rose will yield.

Another day of rain should leave standing water in the backyard, weeds reaching new heights, and the second rose garden in full bloom. Those roses get bonus rain-barrel water, so that gave them a jump. John Paul II was in full bloom. In the front, Easy Does It was completely in bloom, with bright orange flowers on short stems - typical of floribundas. Later the stems will be much longer. As readers recall from last summer, the Easy Does It ($5) roses would always have plenty of blooms to share.

Some buckwheat (not a grain!) should arrive today. Since that is sown, I will be out in the rain sprinkling the seeds in the butterfly garden, under the maple tree, and in the backyard.

Cat Mint mounds rather than taking over - at least I hope so.

One principle of beneficial insect plants is having them grow near the victims of insect pests. Therefore, I want various hosting plants close to the rose garden. Buckwheat will be in bloom quickly and for a long time. I have tiny mints from last year maturing and blooming already - Mountain Mint, Cat Mint, and Horse Mint.

Spirea Neon Flash - from Almost Eden

Another principle is having blooms open up at various times, besides having plants that seem to be ever-blooming. Contributions come from Crepe Myrtle, Spirea, clover, and dandelions (a herb!).

For the most part, adult beneficial insects need nectar and pollen, while the younglings feed on the pests, growing up where the livin is easy.

One of these mornings you're gonna rise up singing
And you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky
But 'til that morning, there ain't nothin' can harm you
With Daddy and Mammy standin' by.
Summertime - The Gershwins.

The mistake many gardeners make is killing all the insects and spiders with poison sprays and particles, when almost all of the creatures are beneficial. The toxin-gardeners also drive away other voracious and useful creatures, from the toads to the birds, none of which thrive on dead, poisoned insects.

One reader wants me to publish a second Creation Gardening book, and I am gathering photos to help that happen. My initial plan is to use the parables of Jesus as the basis for the booklet.

The retail site is here, but readers can obtain it for the author's price or less - by emailing.

Lawsuit seeking Ecclesia records to move forward | NWADG

Lawsuit seeking Ecclesia records to move forward | NWADG:

"Arkansas legislators gave nearly $700,000 of taxpayers' money to the private Christian college from the state's General Improvement Fund.

Ecclesia has twice asked a judge to dismiss Parsons' lawsuit. Ecclesia contended too much time had passed without a court hearing, making the lawsuit moot. Its motion also argued the open records law doesn't apply to Ecclesia because it's a private institution. The college claimed the receipt of some public money isn't sufficient to bring it within the coverage of the state Freedom of Information Act.

Threet found no merit in the seven day argument and ruled that Parsons has stated sufficient facts related to Ecclesia's monetary involvement with government to keep the lawsuit active."

Cancer Free

Cancer-free. My wife Chris (aka Mrs. Ichabod) saw the oncologist today. She is cancer free. No infiltration. No lymph node involvement. As insurance against a return, she will take a generic anti-estrogen pill. The only side effect is possible hot flashes. The pill is daily for five years. That cuts back the risk of return by 50%.

Bethany Green New Testament Lesson - John 4:31ff. Harvest. Nobleman's Son Healed.

John 4

Even More Easy To Grow Plants

We should stop and wonder why food plants and flowers flourish in every kind of weather, climate, and soil. That can only come from God's Creation, engineering, and expert management. When plants fail on us, the first questions should be about favorable conditions for that plant.
Bees are known for sleeping overnight in the Chaste Tree.

For example, I had a Chaste Tree bush looking worse and worse, even though I was dragging rainwater to it. Finally, since another example was doing well, I read about the care and feeding of the Chaste Tree (more of a woody bush). Put the name of the plant in Google. That alone will provide some good post about raising that plant. Or to narrow it down, add "raising" to the search.

I only made three mistakes out of three for Chaste Tree:

  1. Never water the plant.
  2. Put it in full sun.
  3. Prune it. The plant is very tolerant of any kind of trimming.

I took it out of the shady Wild Garden and dug it into the sunniest spot. Next I trimmed every single drooping branch. Finally, I refused to give it water. "No water for you - you back-stabbing Chaste Tree." The plant revived, sprouted leaves, and thrived.

We often have the wrong solution for the target of our earnest work.

A Moline classmate thought Chaste Tree was a great plant. The plant is considered herbal, and famous for hosting bees.

Tree hollows attract some creatures.

The Cold Food Plants
Many food plants would rather be cold: they are often at their best after a frost. I stunned people in Many-snowta (the original name of the state) when I planted spinach in the fall, covered it with leaves once we had hard frosts, and raked away leave in the early spring, with a little snow still on the ground. I read it was possible, and that worked during one of the worst winters ever. The spinach was bug free and fantastic. Spinach loves the cold and abhors heat. Spinach grown in warm weather is truly dreadful.

Kale is even hardier than spinach. I dug down through snow in Midland and found fresh, green kale for my wife to enjoy, years before baby kale became a hot item.

Other cold plants are the cabbage family and carrots.

That is why the cold loving fall bulbs (hardy bulbs) are not the best choice for a southern state.

The humanoid Saguaro cactus grows only in the Sonoran desert,
intolerant of cold,
like the snowbirds who flock there in winter.

Desert Valley Plants
The best plants to grow in a desert valley like Phoenix are those that adore heat and sun, tolerating almost no rain. Naturally, cacti flourished in spite of total neglect, although the famous Desert Botanical Garden did have volunteers watering their prize specimens.

I tried and failed with a number of plants. Tomatoes love the sun, and I grew some. They had to be planted very early lest the summer catch up with them and wilt them with blazing heat. Bee Balms were d.o.a. The plant company probably laughed when they saw that zip code.

Several plants that survived my care and flourished were - Borage, Zinnia, and Scarlet Runner Beans. Zinnias are called the desert rose. All three needed plenty of watering, which also encouraged incredible growth of nasty weeds. Dry landscaping works best in Phoenix.

Scientific types like to tell us that the desert plants evolved to adapt to heat and the lack of rain. Coincidentally, all the desert creatures co-evolved so they could flourish with the help of desert plants.

The rose Chrysler Imperial outlast the car.
This rose is more tolerant of shade.

Shade versus Sun
Having a lot of shade in Springdale - far too many trees - increased my interest in shade plants and tree-pruning. That combination opened up the property for roses, hostas, butterfly plants, and berries.

The roses get the eastern sun, a great combination of light in the cool of the day.

Hostas flourish in shade and grow
slender flowers that hummingbirds love.

The butterfly garden, which gets an early application of buckwheat seeds, is the sunniest place, southern exposure with plenty of heat radiating from the home's block construction.

The shadiest shade is on the west side of the house, where Hosta (loved by hummingbirds) and Wild Strawberries grow.

The semi-shade is fine for berries, various low-growing bushes, and the big Butterfly Bushes.

Butterflies show up for the Butterfly Bush,
a big, and sweet-smelling plant.
Frequent watering gives it maximum height.

I knew my Butterfly Bushes in the Wild Garden are limited by dry spells, so I water them often. The White Profusion variety grows near our bedroom window, so it benefits from

  • Extra rain streaming off the roof.
  • The rain-barrel used just for watering the bush.
  • The dirty birdbath water dumped  on the base of the plant.

Mulching the entire area gives the large plant healthy growth and a good place for birds to wait for their turn at the feeders.

Berries populate like bunnies in the right conditions.

Ecclesia on agency's watch list | NWADG

Ecclesia on agency's watch list | NWADG:

"SPRINGDALE -- The U.S. Department of Education placed Ecclesia College in Springdale on a watch list that affects the school's cash flow, according to the department's website.

Ecclesia is under "Heightened Cash Monitoring 2," an indication that the department is providing additional oversight of cash management, according to the website for the department's Federal Student Aid office.

Typically, colleges receive federal student aid funds on an "advance pay" or "direct reimbursement" basis from the Department of Education. Once an educational institution has been placed on the heightened-monitoring list, funds are released to the school after it has disbursed money to the student or parent borrower, and the school must submit manual reports. The process slows the affected college's cash flow.

Federal Student Aid may place institutions on the heightened-monitoring list "to provide additional oversight for a number of financial or federal compliance issues, some of which may be serious and others that may be less troublesome," the website states.
Arkansas Babtist College in Little Rock is the only other institution in the state with the same status.
Department officials did not respond to repeated requests made since Monday for information on how or why Ecclesia ended up with the heightened-monitoring designation.
It was unclear whether the designation is related to recent criminal allegations against the college's president, Oren Paris III."

Walther's Dystopian Dream Has Come True - ELCA, WELS, LCMS, and the Little Sect Are United against Luther

Students and the laity are encouraged to read
the rah-rah propaganda of the Walther cult.
Look at where Universalism landed ELCA -
the rest of the groups are following ELCA's lead.
WELS will celebrate the Reformation at an ELCA college,
Carthage in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

I am thinking out loud about a future essay on Two Felons and a Christian Leader: A Critical History of Stephan, Walther, and Loehe.

I have to write it, because no one else in Lutherdom will. The Lutheran historians are just like the originals in the Roman Empire, employed by rulers to write propaganda. They are the myth-makers and legend-polishers, practitioners of the second oldest profession.

They polished and cleaned up the Walther Shrine
in St. Louis - creepy!

Walther was not a Lutheran, but an anti-Lutheran. He had a unique opportunity - which he created for himself - to be the dictator of a denomination, so he could supplant Luther. Stephan taught that he was the only Means of Grace in the world. When his sex cult left Europe, with Stephan's mistress on board, along with a number of kidnapped children, they took the Gospel with them - as Stephan declared. No one was allowed to say otherwise. Stephan laid claim to the souls and bodies of the young women in the group, as testified in the trial that cause him to leave Dresden in disgrace.

The spirit of Stephan inhabited Walther,
and lives today in the LCMS-WELS-ELS.

We could blame such claims on Stephan's syphilis, but the same self-glorification can be found in Walther. Those not raised in the LCMS franchise can recognize the spirit of Walther-worship, which his followers promote by denying the facts. The other Lutheran groups certainly had a flair for unionism, with pulpit exchanges with the Reformed. But Walther was primarily a Pietist, and Pietism is union theology, blending Lutheran doctrine with Calvinism. Spener is called "the first union theologian." I recall a factoid about Law and Gospel - that Walther criticized Pietism, but never Spener. In that era, no Lutheran criticized Spener.

Walther only had a rationalistic BA from Leipzig. He grew up with a rationalistic father, who was a pastor. CFW and his brother were part of a Pietistic circle of clergy wannabees who moved from one abusive cult leader (who died) to another - Martin Stephan.

This creepy Walther shrine, statue inside,
is found in St. Louis.

Born to rule and supplant Luther,
if allowed.

ELDONA's publications are called Repristination Press. The term repristination is associated with Walther as the pope-theologian. Repristination Press pre-existed ELDONA, and the titles mostly avoid the Reformation itself in favor of minor figures afterwards.

Cascione's mini-cult wants to Reclaim Walther! so they can attack Luther's doctrine at every opportunity - on LutherQuest!

To become the LCMS Synod President and work with ELCA at every opportunity, a pastor must bow before the shrine of Walther. CFW is one of many gods worshiped in St. Louis: The Ethical Society (no god), Buddha, Confucius, and Walther. Missouri has another statue at the Purple Palace and yet another one labeled The Great Walther. Like the Mormons, the LCMS has people stationed at the scene of Walther's crimes in Perryville to tell fatuous fables about Stephan's bootlicker and enforcer.

Harrison wrote - or had ghostwritten - a book that would stamp him as Walther-certified. I had to photoshop it for honesty.

The LCMS-ELS-ELCA-WELS leadership keeps their UOJ under wraps most of the time. But they jump out like trapdoor spiders and attack any pest who gets near their lair of cowardly Universalism.

They do not need to own every square inch of their territory. These UOJ leaders only need to control the pivotal places of power - the ruling commissions that control who gets hired. By having a majority - or a fanatical minority - on those synodical committees, they decide on everything.

Walther is inside the Purple Palace too.
The grounds were once Roman Catholic,
and the spirit of the Antichrist still reigns supreme.

These leaders like to have staff who are even less able than they are, less apt to teach. The value of hiring a true mediocrity is having someone totally loyal and willing to do anything to avoid working for a living. Walther made sure he had a Pieper following him, to canonize CFW's anti-Luther dogma.

Here is the proof of their victory. No Lutheran seminary says to college and seminary students - "You must read Luther's sermons." No, they force Walther and Waltherian propaganda on the students to supplant Luther. Except in ELCA, tis not wise to mount a frontal assault on Luther. Instead, replace the Reformer with home-grown experts who went to the same seminary and had the same professors promoting the same propaganda.

Chemnitz and the Book of Concord are mentioned but seldom used.

Rambach agrees with the Easter absolution,
but Rolf Preus moved it earlier - to Good Friday.
Was everyone absolved all over again, Rolf?
Some have it during the angelic proclamation - Peace on earth.
Please clarify, UOJists.

Walther had to be Synod President, seminary president, in charge of his own magazine and publications, and the essayist here, there, everywhere. But he opposed Justification by Faith throughout his busy career and substituted Pietism's Objective Justification for the Chief Article.

The Concordists approved Luther's and Melanchthon's
Justification by Faith, which is clearly taught in the Bible,
from Genesis 15 onward.
